Was abit more to it than that now from what I remember. Anyway it’s gone now so not really relevant.
The poster called two players "dungbags" and although I am familiar with the term it is not one I have used since I was about 10 years of age. Indeed 10 year old Diarmi would have referred to quite a few individuals as "dungbags" and, similar to our esteemed poster, the same individuals neither knew nor would have cared about my opinion of them.

Anyone know where you can watch the game again, I always like to rewatch on tv but the iplayer version is unwatchable. Is the only option a GAA GO subscription?

Would like to see the 2 O’Neills in from the start against Fermanagh. Said it before but they look like 2 boys that just need as much football as possible to get fitness and match sharpness back and best way to do that is through game time and if we’re going to do anything this year we need them firing on all cylinders.

If theres only 40-50 minutes in them at this stage so be it, plenty of men to come in and make an impact at that stage.

I'd agree with you have Rian at 11 and oisin at 14, and surround them with pace maybe give murnin and a few a rest, I'd like a forward line of, mcquillan, Rian, Campbell
Turbitt, oisin, conaty. That has pace and power, don't think it will happe though

Rafferty is better under high ball out around midfield, but he’s in panic mode inside our big square. He often gets caught in no man’s land through indecision on whether to go for the ball or stick to his line. I’d guess that teams targeted rafferty for that in a way they possibly wouldn’t with Blaine, who’s a bit steadier and would tend to stick his line. I don’t believe rafferty ever actually conceded a goal from his runs out the field, it was always that messing about and poor positioning under high balls, which sometimes weren’t even anywhere near being his ball to win.

In any case, I’m not sure there would be a better impact player off the bench in the country than rafferty. Couldn’t ask for a better man to come in late in a game to win an important kickout and drive the team forward if you need a score. Or if we’re defending a lead with opposition pressing our kickouts he’s a great long kickout option, you could drop the rest back and let him bomb forward as he doesn’t need much support on those runs so you keep your defensive shape intact. It’s clear he had more impact when he was freed from normal defensive responsibilities and had fresh legs to be that attacking outlet as goalkeeper, so the impact player role with fewer minutes could suit him well.

Just saw a different angle to Grugan’s second half point. A thing of beauty. Pity about the close in free, but that happens.

On the Jarlath Og miss, it looks now like he was surprised to find himself in that position. Caught in two minds.

I blame the stupid, ugly rule of fisting the ball over the bar. God, that is an ugly sight in the game. Had that rule not been there, he would have surely swung a welly at it, and we’d have won.

Maybe Dad will get rid of that rule (along with the forward mark).
Defo get shot of forward mark

Can’t see that happening given Murnins probably our best forward at the minute and Grugan isn’t getting dropped either. Would like to see McQuillan get a chance at wing back to see how he goes.

Agree. Can’t have Oisin and murnin inside and murnin the much better player. I don’t think Oisin will start in the forwards to be honest and his only chance will be at midfield

I like murnin and think he is a brilliant player but oisin is a fantastic player and has more ability than murnin imo,

Could have Oisin in midfield with either Ciaran Mackin or Jarly Og - but I doubt there is much chance of that happening.
I think Geezer sees Oisin only as an option at full forward - but I hope I am wrong.

They’re our two best forwards along with Rian. Need to find a way to get the 3 of them on the field.

Personally I would like to see Oisin and Jarly midfield. That is their natural positions and I think they offer us an aerial presence along with a scoring threat, particularly Oisin.

Do you need legs now for MF, sure theres that many men inside each 45 all you have to do is be a link up man between the two 45's.
Look at the best midfielders currently - Glass, Rodgers, Fenton for example. All very mobile and get around the field covering every blade of grass. I fear given Oisin's injury history, his future lies within the 45

I can understand thinking this way in regards to his injury history, but he did get up and down the field okay in the club championship, think if you have an athletic and fit midfielder alongside him ie. Jarly og or Mackin we would be ok

Hard to say really til he gets a few games under him. Could do a similar thing to Murnin the other day being an option for kickouts and also spending time inside. Would be a far better long range shooter than anyone we have at the minute as well.
