A game of football is an organic, moving, vibrant, living entity and there are so many minute variables that will influence moments within the game but the reality is that single events or mistakes or decisions do not change results. People will say 'what if a team scores a goal in the last kick of the game to win it? I say why has a team allowed themselves to be less that a goal ahead? it was the 60 odd minutes that won or lost the game not the last minute goal. if a referee is particularly bad, you just adjust the way you play and deal with this. A team is where it is because of the talent available to it and the level of preparation that they have, not how good the opposition is, not how bad a referee is, not how difficult the conditions are, not what way the fixtures are set up. Control the controllables and the rest will fall according to how you react to the uncontrollables.
