Why isn't Cavan backing Kildare on this? Why are they being dragged to Croke Park too?

Cavan have no ground available themselves at the minute and would be playing in Brewster Park if it isn’t in Croke Park. Maybe they are happy to do that?

Pablo it really wasn't a great game and "very flat and lethargic" would a perfect description for the entire game to be honest. It was really warm too and I got the impression we were pacing. Seemed to score when they did and react to them all the way through the first half. Start of the second was a little more frantic and when Rory got the goal we relaxed again, but took better scores than them with our defence working really well with the exception of the goal. Again to be honest, the ref could/should have awarded a free out at that point, but overall, I think for a tyronie, he handled the game quite well, letting most 50/50 stuff slide and players played the game.

We're still too defensive and slow at breaking from defence. Instead of playing the high ball in fast, we move back and forth across the field allowing them to regroup and get everyone behind the ball. Do that against a team like Dublin, Monaghan, Fermanagh [again] or any other team better than us and we'd be destroyed!.

Overall the verdict was "job done - move on!!"

Many thanks Calm1

this means That Kildare will not be able to play at home and will have to play Dublin (Guess where) hardly an advantage to them is it ....it’s nonsense the size of your stadium has nothing got to do with it .

Indeed to repeat an old adage that probably also applies here, size does not matter, it is how you use it. Ahem
Kildare absolutely correct to call out the GAA to follow their own rules. Different situation for Cavan as Brefni is not unavailable.
Like ourselves, up to now all of Kildare's games (championship and qualifier) have been away from home, some of which have involved fairly long road trips. Now they have the chance to play a quality side in front of their home fans-but that has been taken away from them despite the GAA's own rules stating they should have home advantage. Can you imagine how we as Armagh fans would feel if we were in the same situation? Some knob at HQ made this call and will probably not back down.
Would be decent gesture by Mayo to agree to play in Newbridge. They probably will show up there without telling anyone

Time for the other qualifier teams to threaten a boycott too. Let's see the big chiefs sweat when their cash cow super 8s schedules fecked up, and the Pope having to change his schedule too.

If the GAA don't back down on this, this could do massive damage.

And on top of that remember that Cavan are likely to have a few missing (if there's any backbone in the GAA for consistency and HQ want to back their Ulster Council brethren) so this could be their only chance of an outing in Dublin for a while.

My honest opinion is it's a pathetic decision based on nothing but greed and stupidity. Kildare like all the rest deserve their home game and we as members of the GAA should be prepared to stand alongside Kildare - until we are drawn to play them and then they're on their own.

I can't call for a boycott of games this week in support of Kildare if the decision is forced through on two grounds, our lads don't deserve punished for something which has nothing to do with them and I won't be able to go this week anyway (stupid people getting married. Deserve to be together and unhappy. Good enough for them ).

Cavan,Tyrone,Mayo are licking Gaa arse
Not so sure Bull. Cavan and Mayo are being quiet at the minute, doesn't mean they're arse licking. Possibly keeping their powder dry or making waves behind the scenes. Unlikely I know but possible. Them other prats? Heaven only knows.

The Sky bully boys will most likely win and Kildare will have to back down when the incentive is put to them sadly. Watch this space

Was on the ath grounds pitch this morning. Fella needed a lift with a sprinkler. Jesus its immaculate. Absolute credit to the groundsmen
It's funny the difference a week can make. TNN and Dromintee played an u14 championship final there less than a week ago- steady/torrential rain throughout and by the end of the game, the pitch was dangerously slippery.

3rd round qualifiers are home venues, not Croke Park. So it's ludicrous from the GAA to move 2 games there.

Even if they'd have moved all 4 qualifiers to Croke Park wouldn't have been as big an issue in a way (even though there's been no precedence for this).

Cavan used Brewster last week, why not again? Tyrone fans or not, it's unacceptable for fans from as far away as Strabane to head to Dublin. And if they are season ticket holders, they'll be charged even if they don't go. Brewster is ideal, or Clones.

The GAA have really overstepped the mark on this one. The organisation is moving further away from the ordinary fan. They really have become the Grab All Association.

And I can't see Kildare backing down, so I can see Mayo getting a walkover.

Would not change anything there really. What is the story with McParland? Did not make an appearance last Sunday?
