So now that we've beaten Westmeath and proven that we are contenders after all, who are we looking forward to in the next round of qualifiers?

Potentials should we progress, are :

Clare or Tipp
Sligo or Leitrim
Longford or Dubs
Laois or Carlow
Monaghan or losers Donegal / Down

Trip to Mullingar - I always went Monaghan, Cavan Town, Ballinagh but I did google maps there and it reckons via Newry, Dundalk etc that way is quicker by around 15mins. What way others travelling?

Would Newry to Ardee not be quicker than Blayney? Bearing in mind the state of the road to Keady, Blayney and Carrick?

Newry - Ardee - Kells - Delvin - Mullingar
(Real bad roads from ardee to mullingar)

Newry - Collon - Navan - Trim - Longwood - Kinnegad - M4 - Mullingar
(Roads not too bad)

Newry - Dublin - M50 - M4 - Mullingar
(20 odd miles longer but Motorway hold way but you’ve also 3 tolls)

You’d be just as quick to run on to Dublin and down the M4 if you don’t mind paying the tolls. No hold ups, no getting caught behind tractors or held up in any towns on a Saturday.

Only a few days to go, I'm very excited about Saturday. I fully expect our team to show Westmeath why we are heading to Division 2 next year. We are much stronger than them and our boys will feel that they need to put on a display for us. This is very similar to last year at this time against Fermanagh, we had a great second half and that drove us onto 3 more victories. Saturday will be the first victory of many for us this year as no team that we can meet in Round 2 will scare us. We just need the belief back that we had last year and our lads will keep us happy this Summer. To Saturday!

I've missed you @Dinny :D:D:D I am fully expecting a motivational post from you every day from now until Saturday. Let's create a buzz on here & have the supporters fully ready to be the 16th man on Saturday. Let Westmeath & Mullingar know that the big bad Nordies are back in town to cheer our lads on to a win. Let's show our colours & SUPPORT for the team (even those who don't necessarily agree with management). Yep my nerves are starting to build now.......

Ahem, I know it was a while ago but that sounds a bit like something I said a few years ago!! Except I had the balls to actually open a new thread with it. :p:p Do you mind how our old friend Sliothar reacted?? We actually did win the game.;)

Can we win on Saturday? Of course we can, Will the road be full of us hopeless cases again? Of course it will. Will the naysayers ever succeed in dampening our enthusiasm? Well, yes but only for a week or two and then like delusional mad yokes we take to the highways again as certain as ever that we are fit for any team on the day. Ahhh, daft as brushes the lot of us.....
