How can you possibly have a team that cannot defend?

The players stood off their man and let them waltz through the defence unhindered. The defenders were turned out of the tackle a shed load of times. Roscommon players pretty much just got on the inside of the players time and time again. Management have completely ignored the tackling aspect of the game and the team paid a heavy price.

Absolute garbage. Armagh's Full Back line have been one of the best lines on the field this year. Burns had a super league and Championship, along with Murnin and Hall probably the stand out players over the qualifiers. McKay was a big loss today and McCabe has had a solid year too so tough to lose.

Half back line struggled today with running from deep however and that'll have to be addressed down the line.

No doubt the 'McGeeney Out' and 'Get more Cross Players in' Brigade will be singing from the roof tops. The proof is in the pudding, McGeeney is 100% the man for the job. You can say that Armagh haven't won an Ulster game under Kieran, but regardless, look at Cavan, Down and Fermanagh, what have their Ulster Championship wins progressed to?

There's a good bunch of young lads there and it's very obvious there's great understanding and unity among the young squad. All in all, a couple of kicks of the ball from the Super 8s.

This team will be back. Div 3 Champions and a year in Div 2 now to set out the stall for next year.

Obviously it was something worked on in training , but my god what was geezer doing with murnin in the 2nd half,, 1st half he was like an all star with 4 brilliant points 2nd half we take him out the field and I struggle to remember seeing him on the ball the entire half

I thought he had went off injured or something at HT. I never seen him second half. That is a strange decision. He scored some sumptuous points first half.

Congratulations to the team and management on what was successful year!!!! The attitude and application of the lads cannot be faulted, they have overcome a lot of adversity this year, drop-outs, Fermanagh performance, injuries etc!

With playing division 2 and with good quality coming through I think we are developing slowly, but in the right manner!!! You just have to look at the development of some of these players!

As a group they try to play football in the right manner! We have problems particularly with runners. Yes! We lack depth in our squad! Yes (hence Murnin playing around the middle)! Today also proved that we lack real quality in certain areas! This quality is within the county.

Everybody within the game knows what is required to be a top county footballer. Although I for one would not promote this, I have to except that this not going to change.

I suppose the question for some of those lads alluded to is if they have the desire and will to commit. On a personal level they have to ask if they want to push themselves to compete at the top table! The super 8 is going to take the game to the next level. As a player do they really want to miss out on that?

I am more positive today about our future than I have been in along time!!!

The midgets are after stuffing Cork , puts Kerry's defeat of them in a different light.
To be honest we are better off well out of it. We would end up getting 2-3 trimmings, would be very demoralising

We've played 2 games in the heat in 7 days, they've played 2 games in the Championship & only 1 was competitive, might explain why the boys started to look a bit leg weary don't you think!!!

Bollix.
Only way we will get better is to.play better teams.
We were unlucky today. The missed penalty huge turning point.
Future is looking better
Thanks to the entertainment over the past number of months.
League winners, promoted and performances are great.
Looking forward to January

My take on the season ..

Outside the Fermanagh championship match overall positive , although we didn’t get as far last year we finished on a bit of positivity, and I hope we build the momentum that was lost since 2013 after the quarter final against Donegal were we should of moved on some more lads such as Burns , Hall , Broken in and could be regular starters we need another few players I would like to see Hughes , Morgan , the ONeills back next year from Cross and hopefully Soupy will knuckle down and get back in and we could challenge for promotion and the Super 8 next year .
We need to work on kick outs as we lose 2/3 points every match and I would not solely blame Blaine it’s a team issue . Also discipline while our card count has fallen we are still given away cheap frees in scoreable positions in the first half today they kept Roscommon in it when we were on top . We play some good football at times and while the direct ball is good I think we can over use it and need to mix it with a bit of running off the shoulder etc .
I would like to see more natural defenders in the Half back line as I think we have more converted attackers and this is leading us to concede scores .
As for the management after the Fermanagh game I wanted them to go however it would probably be back to the drawing board if they went so they should stay for another year , it’s a tough job and I hope everyone involved takes time to reflect and come up with the plan for next year .
Just to say thanks to the team and management for your efforts and here’s to the cold winter of Jam when we start again .

While the penalty miss was crucial I think Grugans missed free shortly after was more so.

At least we have it a go and died with our boots on. I’m proud of the boys today. A couple things go different and we are in the super 8s. Alas it wasn’t to be. But think of how you felt after losing to fermanagh and how different you feel today. I am optimistic for the future.
