Season Tickets 2024

A complete shambles is what it is
Apart from the season ticket rip off, there is also a big flaw in the ‘7 match package’
For some reason Juveniles do not require a ticket for the Louth and Meath games but do require one for the Donegal and Cavan games. However there is no option for Juveniles in this package so it’s full price tickets for them and this negates the discount

I was an advocate of the season ticket last year but there definitely seems to be an effort to push supporters away from this option

Take my example
Season ticket
2 adults
2 kids
€ 360

Full price tickets to all league games
2 adults
2 kids
€300

Realistically with the kids, we will only make the home games
4 x home games @ full price
€ 180

Why in your right mind would you opt for a season ticket ???

I would suggest fans should boycott the season ticket as a protest but that seems to be the end goal anyways

I think based on this they're planning to increase the price of games for non-season ticket holders.

This has been posted on Twitter (it will always be Twitter) tonight from Armagh GAA

So now the Season ticket appears to have no relevance to the Championship at all. Why were those purchasing/renewing Season tickets made aware of this PRIOR to getting the Season ticket? The tickets went on sale yesterday & this is posted today! No harm but I really do think the GAA are trying to completely shaft us every which way they can  E-mail will be sent to the GAA tomorrow asking for clarification on Season ticket & "special Championship packages"

Perhaps you could share the reply you get?

The only advantage that remains for the season ticket holder is the entitlement to championship tickets further down the line.
So if there is ‘championship packages’ available well then there is really no point…

Will do.

I have checked online and the season ticket seems to be the same as previous years.
I've also contacted GAA HQ directly to ask whether there will be separate season tickets released for championship games only and this was their response.
I'm not sure where the info has come from that Armagh GAA have posted on FB.

And ignore me if I've been living under a rock, but do many counties have their own season pass similar to the "Parnell pass" which I hadn't heard of until now?

He's correct but wrong and misleading.

They ARE continuing with the joint pass but NOT as in previous years which entitled you to FREE access to the first championship game with your county (well not free but included. Nothing free with them bunch of nordie lovers..........ahem I digress!!!)

Now you have the "guaranteed access" to purchase tickets for your counties championship matches!

One wonders is it because "some" counties only get first round and one qualifier and they don't get a chance to fleece them in further rounds especially with the tall ten cup thingy! Not that we should be septic, spectic, scatical.......emhaveing doubts about their motivation!!

I see, that's really helpful thanks.
I can't see the value in it this year, the only perk is avoiding the mad scramble when it comes to the business end of the year- but there are alot of games between now and then.

Absolutely. The value thing has gone completely and I think they've lost their way in a quest to recover Covid losses - I know no-one likes to mention it anymore but I now honestly believe it has left some businesses/sports with small revenue reserves that they are trying to recoup. It's not a conspiracy theory, but just a thought that maybe they see an excuse and possibly it's all they can do, but at least be honest with us. We CAN handle the truth. We can also accept reasoned explanation even if we are uncomfortable with it.

That aside, like I said already, because of the lack of value I'm opting out this/next season. First time ever since I was a nipper I'm considering if it's worth going to games. I guess I'll wait and SAWG (see as we go). Maybe regret it when we're in the AI Final but I'll sell my Caribbean Island to get a ticket!

Season ticket shambles. NFL ticket prices rise for third time in 6 years. Cahair O'Kane article in Irish News (Tues 12/12/23) - managerial payments + 'backroom expenses' - some mindboggling figures. JP McManus donating 1,000,000 to each County Board in Ireland. Need to lie down all this talk about moneyo_O

Is that you Branson? And if so, does that mean you’ll be changing your name to @Big D... ahem, never mind.

But seriously, the price hike is going to be tough for fans attending.

Division 3 is only £12 per match though. Maybe I’ll ...(start the car, Mrs M).... go watch Down in Div 3, and have enough money left over for a burger...

Maybe I’m having one of those days, but that first attachment is so flippin’ confusing. One bit says your championship ticket is included in the ST, the next bit says it’s not.
