Has there ever been 4 quarter finals so one sided? It’s clear to see who the 4 best teams are this year. Should be close semi finals

Result of the seeding system, great semi-final tho and this may be the first season in a long time where there is 4 genuine contenders left.

Yeah it’s good to see an open championship at this stage. Hard to pick a winner, but Cross just stand out for me because they’ve done it so many times before

.... our only hope is that you beat cullyhanna in the semi and get about 5 men suspended in the process :)

And it’s on! Maghery to beat a heavily depleted Cross in the final after cross and cullyhanna cut the shite out of each other.

On a more serious note anyone that watched tonight’s game and also saw Cross on Saturday would know that Crossmaglen would have beat the pick of tonight’s two teams. We have a lot of work to do to get past Ballymacnab as tonight’s performance simply won’t cut it.

Anyone see what Grimley's red was for?

Was only a matter of yards away and I didn't see it, as my eye-line followed the ball that had been laid off. However, members of the group I was in, and who witnessed what happened, actually disagreed on the severity of the punishment - some thought it was a clear red card, others thought it was harsh. What they all agreed on though was that his actions, which were witnessed by the linesman, forced the referee to make a decision.

It was also nice of one member of the crowd to make his way from the stand, in a controlled manner, around to the far side of the pitch, to launch a foul mouthed tirade at the linesman for having the temerity to advise the ref of what he had seen, notwithstanding the fact that the linesman was probably seventy yards closer to the incident than our friend from the stand.

I've asked it before and it still baffles me - who would be a referee / linesman?

Like Rufus I followed the ball but was told by those around me that it was deserved. Nialls reaction to the card would seem to support this as he took his seat with any sign of injustice.

It seems and I'm quoting rather than actually witnessing as others have said, that he made contact with his knee after he was held or tripped. Again varying degrees of agreement on the severity with most leaning towards a bit harsh and a yellow may have been adequate. Unfortunately the rule is "to strike or attempt to strike........" so the rule seems to have been applied properly. Unfortunately I doubt even if he had stayed on the field that the result would have been affected. May have been a better game and a closer scoreline, but the result would have been the same. Maghery were just so much quicker in attack and getting back to defence. The biggest impact Niall was having was around the middle and free taking.

Really looking forward to the semi finals. Think they could be great tactical battles. I seriously doubt any real niggle in the Cullyhanna v Crossmaglen game. Both teams will be too heavily focused on winning to risk losing key players and they'll have it drummed in about the consequences and how it will affect the final when they get there. I'm not gonna have a stab at a winner. Think it may be closer than some expect and wouldn't rule out a replay. Ballymacnab and Maghery play a similar fast paced game. Another intriguing match up. Good luck to all four clubs and respective members in the sweepstake. Looking good for our county final this year. Shame I will be elsewhere.

I'm a tad late posting this but i have to say i was very impressed by Crossmaglen or maybe i am just impressed by a team whose first instinct is to kick the ball forward, or maybe it's both, anyway, carry on......................

Some great semi-finals ahead the most exciting in years.
Four football teams packed with excellent players and good managers going for it
I can see a lot of neutral interest from outside the county attending.
With excellent intermediate games as well it looks like the two finals on Saturday are going to be overshadowed and kinda lost in all the social media coverage.
