Interesting first half but Clanns seemed to run out of steam in the 2nd half against a much more physically strong Cross. If Clanns had taken a few more of the early chances it might have been different but realistically they needed a big game from Soupy, who unfortunately was quite disappointing.

Not sure how Cross will go in Ulster against the likes of Errigal Ciaran, Glen, Naomh Connall and Scotstown but any team with 6 or 7 County players and such physical strengths has a chance.

Regards Cullyhanna - very impressive indeed. A bit like Cross as they have a number of top level County players allied to great physical strengths. Must have a good shout for an Ulster title.

Be no diesel washed for a week!

Cross bound to be sick of it by now, how many is that for Aaron Kernan? Must be close to Heartys record?

At least the DLB had a bit of bite and dirt in them when they were getting beat. They were better team in first half but didnt make it shoe on scoreboard and then were just blown out of it by a far more physical team.

St Pauls just folded after the first goal. Cullyhanna were excellent but would nearly be afraid to read too much into it St Pauls were that bad. For a team that was seconds away from winning it last year you’d think they would have at least got stuck in. Don’t think they even had a card.

I think cross if you go player by player are as good if not better than any team in Ulster, its if they are set up good enough that will decide if they do anything at Ulster level, for me there is question marks about that. Ulster is so competitive right now, obviously kilcoo and glen look so strong then you have Scotstown more than likely errigal Ciaran who are just as good, but I think if cross had a better set up and Morgan back they would be favourites for me, intermediate is interesting because cullyhanna should go well because of how strong they are but it's hard to know what the rest of Ulster will be like, I will be cheering both on and really hope they go well

I disagree there's better teams in Ulster than in Armagh
Cross and Cullyhanna didn’t just win their county final, they destroyed their opponent by 12 and 22 points.

Something’s wrong if you’re not being challenged in a county final and then losing in the first round of Ulster

Cross will have been targeting Ulster since Ballybay beat them. Should at least get a win or two but Glenn and Kilcoo would likely beat them

You can't judge Crossmaglen going into ulster championship on the Armagh championship
Which is the problem. The county’s best team isn’t challenged until it reaches the provincials. Cross has been asleep for most of its matches with Madden and Clans, and once they decided to play they blew them away in 10 minutes or less.

Glen at has to get through Slaughtneil to win Derry. Kilcoo has to play Burren (although they beat them well enough). The Tyrone championship is always cutthroat.

Think you nailed it there lad, disappointed but at the same time super proud of the lads who made it to the county final with let face it a bunch of kids. Hopefully a bright future ahead of them.

Thought the black card just allowed cross the extra bit of wriggle room and they exploited it well, meant we then had to chase the game and Cross were able to counter that. Not sure what the black card was actually for, seemed a very strange decision and was crucial in what had been a very tight game up until that. We also couldn't win a ball in the middle, cross dominated for 10-15 minutes and that was enough to finish it as a contest.

Wish Cross all the best now in Ulster which looks fairly open, Cross won't be easily beaten, they may face their toughest tests at the earlier stages.

Cullyhanna looks super well drilled also, great running from deep with support players either side. Also able to kick great scores, they scored a couple of cracking goals also..

Dissapointed but at the same time optimistic for the future but it's not guaranteed, rest assured every game will have to be won.
Over 3 minutes of that black card was wasted with a feigned head injury. Clear as day - when Cross scored - McPartland dropped to the ground with no one around him. This needs to be dealt with better. Ref should direct player off the field for assessment and let the game continue. In fairness he did instruct him after 2.30 minutes to go off - within 30 seconds McP was back on. If this was a suspected head injury - a proper assessment would take 5-10 minutes minimum.

As for the black card, I thought there was a far clearer one in the first half when Paul Hughes was rugby tackled to the ground when on the break. But the one that was given was for a trip/pull with the hand.
