Clans game was a hard watch, However it was all about being in the bowl for the next round. As expected Dromintee played very defensive and were very toothless up front, lacking any real killer instinct.

Our lads done what they had to albeit unconvincingly, the systematic fouling of decent players is something that has to be addressed, man after man is being put on good footballers to just batter and pull. When they are cautioned there's another in to do the same thing. There could be a purposeful rule change brought in for that (I don't just mean this is happening on Clans players either)

Few shinning lights from our perspective is the growing impression the young lads are having, some of them playing like they have been there for seasons. Felt young Lavery was outstanding both for the penalty and rising in defense to catch high balls against seasoned men. They are a credit to our club and a treat to watch. Hopefully they get their reward this evening and lift the mionor title despite the adversity they had to endure this weekend with fixtures.

Regarding the quarters

Killeavey/Clans- Going to be a tough one for both teams, really felt our lads should have had them beaten last year but for Killeavey to snatch it at the end, Maybe Killeavey have improved and I gather they have a few players back, so I would say it's a toss of a coin. I think whoever starts best will win as it will be an open affair so I wouldn't like to be chasing a 3 or 4 point deficit and running the risk of being hit on the break. I will go for a draw here with our lads scrapping through in Extra Time :)

Madden/Ballymacnab- This one should be a cracker, two teams going in with confidence and notching up some high scores, I think the Nab might just shade it with the scoring threat and the direct running game. If Grugan is allowed to pick passes into the Nab forward line then this could be the difference. However Madden on their day can be impressive, strong and powerful side and can be dangerous if allowed to dominate around the middle sector in particular.

Clann Eireann/Silverbridge- Clann Eireann seem to be the team to beat and therefore its hard to look passed them for this one. Silverbridge on their day can play good football and at times have been a bit of a bogey team against CE. I would say CE will have prepared with that in mind and should be capable of winning by 3 or 4 in the end.

Cross/Harps- Harps are like the jekyll and Hyde of senior football, you just never know what is going to turn up. I think whichever one turns up though will come up short. I think Cross have become a stronger unit since their draw with us, they wouldn't have been happy with that and have certainly upped their performances since that game. I see them controlling the game winning comfortably by 4 or 5.

Harps tipping up to Silverbridge isn’t that bad of a spin, but surely theres somewhere handier for Clann Eireann.
It was originally scheduled for Pearse Og Park. Anyone know why it was changed?

Can only guess they want as many double headers as possible.

Why are lurgan folk so averse to driving beyond Armagh city, do their electric cars not have the range?
If they want as many double headers as possible then they may look again at their scheduling of the IFC and SFC quarter finals.

The concept of neutral venues seems to be lost on some people (including the CCC)

Out of curiosity, has anywhere in north Armagh been used as a “neutral venue” involving south Armagh teams, at any level, this year in the championship?

Why not just fix Clann Éireann II v Killeavy II somewhere roughly equidistant? Rather than ten minutes over the road from Killeavy?
