Two different competitions and thats just hard luck
I don't see the big deal
Those at secondary school should play for their school - its their correct age group

The big deal is that Armagh have two players on both squads and I assume Tyrone have some crossover too.

Thats just hard luck. If it cant be helped it cant be.
Of course playing competitions that overlap in time and possibly some players is not what we want but at some stage we just need to stop whining about things and get on with it.
Fixtures are set and if The weather upsets that then who is to.blame....

Perhaps ulster colleges could condense the mcrory cup, perhaps the U20 could be played as curtain raisers to the senior championship
Maybe the weather tomorrow will help with this very little issue

It is very much not a 'very little issue.'

Players having to choose between playing for their county or school in huge competitions is ridiculous. Counties were told that school games would be kept apart from their games if it involved their players.

The weather complicates it, but the MacRory final is over a month away with just three rounds left to play. It could, and should, have been avoided.

Thats an opinion and your fully entitled to it
They are TWO separate competitions. Make a choice and play in one.
Its not rocket science.
Look at it logically
McRory is primarily for upper and lower sixth
U20 is primarily for those not at secondary school
If theres a cross over of 1 or 2 players thats hard luck
If theres a cross over of more than that then there is something wrong.
In the bigger scheme of things it fills a few inches of column spaces thats all.
Its not an issue - my opinion.

There are 18 years old playing for their colleges and are good enough to play for their county under 20 side, they shouldn’t be forced to make a choice . Both competitions should not be run at the same time never mine games on the same day. It is less an issue in the south as there college teams are I believe under 17 but I stand to be corrected.

I think a point almost everyone has missed is that the schools competitions have ran at the same time over the same months for almost 30 years now. They have never changed or got in anyones way. In fact since schools competitions began, they have always ran in the same ballpark timeframe. They have no choice because of the school calendar. It has to fit around other aspects of the curriculum and the fact that summer is a time when they are off. Other competitions have moved constantly and even had age grading changes several times. Schools can't be blamed for any of those changes.

Multiple high level and high profile players speak openly about their school achievements, medals, awards etc. Far fewer mention their underage or age related county achievements.
