Ulster Senior Football Championship 2021

Not too serious

Donegal are seriously strong at underage level and that’s a very young Armagh team. Only 4 of the starting 15 are over age next year so this is a good learning experience. That’s actually a pretty decent bunch of players so don’t be too harsh on them
That’s all well and good but preparation was very poor and left the team little chance of progression. I believe the management stood down after the game.

I'm guessing we're gonna get the usual lecture tomorrow from the loudspeaker guy exercising his vocal chords, now I've seen the instructions in another post:

At the Match
  • The use of face coverings is required for all spectators (including those who have been vaccinated) and must be used in all areas of the ground.
  • Please observe social distancing of at least two metres and avoid close contact with others.
  • Bring your own hand sanitiser and practice good hand hygiene.
  • Please observe good respiratory etiquette; always cover your mouth / nose if needing to cough or sneeze.
  • Remain in your allocated seat and keep movements around the grounds to a minimum.
  • If you need to leave your seat, wait for a time when the aisle is clear and follow the signage and instructions of stewards.
  • When accessing the facilities, please ensure you comply with stadium signage and instructions of the stewards. Please be patient and maintain a distance of two metres while queuing.
  • Avoid hugs, handshakes and any close contact with those who are not in your social bubble.
  • Be mindful of others when cheering or celebrating.

After The Match
  • Please follow the instructions of stewards, and/or PA announcements.
  • Do not congregate with other friends or fellow supporters outside the stadium.

Huge scrutiny on the game I'd guess as its teams from the North taking part as we approach a certain date I'm sure legislative people are following guidelines
Good job their not at Wembley, Wimbledon and elsewhere

Unfortunately the AG along with certain other grounds in the North have to follow legislative requirements
If the game was next weekend the scrutiny may not be as bad

And none of the items are out of the ordinary really

But we are outside and we've all been told the risk is less outside

Someday we will all listen and adhere to the PA the first time and that'll really flumox them

Good luck to all of the Armagh players that take to the field tomorrow to represent us again this year. Let's hope it's a win no matter how poor.

I'll be wearing my Armagh jersey. If anyone spots me in the stand, say hello :D

Well said.

You shouldn’t be hard to spot. Sure there’s only me and you still wearing the Carna Transport jersies.

Good luck to all involved today. I expect a tight enough first half and for us to pull clear in the second winning with a bit to spare. Antrim gaa was on a bit of a high after the league and they wont be walkovers, though I just get the feeling the ulster championship won't be starting until after today. Realistically after today the 3 weakest teams sbould be out of Ulster and games a lot tighter than we have to date. That in no way is to diminish or demeen the teams gone, just that the quality should improve there on in.

Just going through the pre-match routine, a sturdy nine county fry followed by generous regurgitation of the morning papers and the downloaded match programme, careful selection of the right Armagh attire, ensure all my chores are done to maximise bonus points in case we proceed, predicting that the selected fifteen is only a geezer ploy to throw opponents off the scent, checking that the motor is ok, carefully randomly guess my score prediction for the game, select targeted one liners for any pre-match banter with the opposition (still pissing myself that one asked if the train still goes to Armagh, he will be disappointed this morning when he reaches Portadown lol), get the packed lunch ready, not a prayer but look for spiritual intervention during the game, reflect that I am lucky to be there today and will have to shout extra for the many wonderful supporters who will be there in spirit, take a sec to recall those who have passed who will watch from the clouds, pack the lunch, find the ticket, count down the minutes to departure time, now where are them aul tapes from 02 for the journey. Come on Armagh!
