What did the keeper do wrong today?

The only clear & obvious error was the short kickout directly to 1 of Them Uns which could have been a goal scoring opportunity, thankfully it was only a point, other than that I thought he did ok in goal .

Didn’t see the game but was following a bit on twitter.

Thought when they pulled back before Grugans goal it was same old Armagh throwing away a lead so fair play for staying ahead.

Seen Mark Shields came on and off again, did he get injured? As far as i remember he missed almost all of last year.

RO’N seemed to have played well as usual and Forker, usually our two best players so no big surprise there. How did the new lads get on, Higgins and Mackin? Anyone else stand out?

We need a another back up keeper.he can't be the 2nd best in the county. Burns and forker both made a huge difference to the back line and liked the fullback experiment

He’s 20 years of age playing against the most aggressive team in Ireland

Killeavy have supplied a couple of keepers the county this past few years.with a bit of luck Shea will establish himself as #1 as he’s a very talented lad. Unlikely to be this year though

Always good to beat the All Ireland Champions, doesn't matter what competition it happens in. Two wins so far, a sign of it becoming a habit I hope ;)

Should have saved the goal hit 2 short kickoff straight to Tyrone players and over carried the ball for another score
For Gods sake , cut the lad some slack. He’s 20 years old making his debut and we have someone writing him off

Debut? He had a nightmare last year 4 goals vs monaghan and similar mistakes.

It's been a position we have struggled so was a honest question in that is he the 2nd best in County?

I thought the goalie had a great game.. His kickouts were exceptional and yes there was one or two wobbles but which player on the field didn't make any mistakes.
The game v Monaghan one goal was a bad kickout. The rest were the result of about 10 players not doing their job.

Sorry but where exactly am I writing him off?!?!! I haven't abused the lad & in fact I am one of those who stuck up for him after the Monaghan game, although you obviously weren't aware he played that day  He made a mistake today that I've seen other keepers make, I just hope he doesn't do it again.

Well if you identify with that statement then the hat must fit
No need for insulting people. Ard Mhacha 13 merely said they seen the keeper make a mistake but said they played ok in goal. Just leave it that without being derogatory based on intelligence. A bit of snidey and unnecessary comment in my opinion. As for the keeper, its only his second game starting, a couple of mistakes until he finds his way are to be expected. Hes done alright so far and can be moulded or developed into a good player. Backline, midfielders and half forwards need to give him better options for restarts though.

Please point out where I named any person by their screen name regarding intelligence.
The very young goalkeepers credentials were being attacked quite unnecessarily.
We are very lucky to have two excellent goalkeepers and we do not need the repeat of what happened a number of years ago

Please point out where I attacked the keeper, as I mentioned previously I was one of those who defended him after the Monaghan match. I merely pointed out an individual error, one which he will hopefully learn from, I didn't call for him to be dropped, for Armagh to go in search of another keeper or abuse him in any way, you are reading something into my post which does not exist.

This will go around in circles.
Reread the last two pages. You correctly say you pointed out one error.
None of my posts referred/referenced yourself or anything written by you .
We've just won two games and are in the McKenna cup semifinal
If we'd lost the two games I have no doubt umpteen posts about getting rid of the manager, where's the new players etc would have been written.
Instead ten changes in personnel from the Cavan game to the Tyrone game and then in the Tyrone game there was 8 or 9 subs used.
The Monaghan game may be too soon as they've been resting since the previous weekend

Let's just draw a line under it and move on, it is going to become one of those things that dominate the conversation. Yes, it is a small victory but this is where we build from and have to show the team has improved. Can't comment on the goalkeeper as I haven't watched the game and no doubt had we lost by a goal the GK's mistake would have been magnified and rightly so but he is a young lad and improvements should come on with experience in goals at county level.
