Is it just me or do I get a general feeling of "it's just matter of turning up" spreading around the county.
I have butterflies about next Sunday already, Galway are a seriously tight team, and will not just roll over.
Exactly my friend. I've gotten that same feeling too and posted about it already. We can't be like that. Some quarters have us down as favourites and we most definitely aren't. We've made a massive improvement over recent years, but haven't won a single thing in a long long time. Reality and hope is how we approach this game.

Galway’s a sleeping giant of Gaelic football, 3rd in the roll of honours behind Kerry and Dublin so unwise to write them off, their forwards are some of the best about and Sean Kelly’s the inform defender in the country this year and will be assigned to Rian so can’t see him having as much as an influence as he did the last day out. The rest of their defence is potentially suspect so it’ll be up to others to carry the load. Ultimately I think who wins the midfield battle will win the game, as mentioned by others both teams have struggled there at times this year so hard to call.
Jesus @ShiftYa I read that bit as "wins the Linfield battle" I'm really starting to loose the plot with this one. Fever is rising!!

Can't forgive them Aghagallon shites for putting out Tyrone Flags when we were playing Tyrone a few years ago. A hell of a row broke out with them being reminded that their underage teams played in the Armagh leagues!! Not long after........................
That is unforgivable. Especially as Aghagallon is basically a suburb of Lurgan.
They really don't like being told that

Sounds familiar, I'm a nervous wreck before and during games. Does anyone else be like "if we could only win this one, I don't care about the next one"? And then the next one comes are you are like "if we could ..........
Yep!!!!!

I remember hearing a story (not sure how true) about a row breaking out at a quiz night at a GAA club somewhere in Antrim.
The question that set it off was 'Before St Galls, who were the last team from Co Antrim to win an All Ireland title?'
Answer was 'Linfield, in the Setanta Cup'
Didn't go down well

I haven’t posted as my much recently as, unlike many of you fecking dossers I have a busy life! The posts have been great and informative over the last few weeks but the greatest injustice has been around the whole lies surrounding Rufus and his booing in 1977….no way that charlatan was 14 then, closer to 24! Lifetime ban ye cur ye!

The sense of anticipation is always something else in these situations. The build up, what day will it be, what time will it be, when the thing is organised where will I get a ticket, how will I go, where will I have a pint , and so on and so on. We all will have our routines, our spots, our wee foibles and eccentricities. I’m 46 years old(genuinely unlike Rufus and his scurrilous lies about his age) and to this day I still have the same morning routine for match days as a supporter than I had as a player more or less. She’ll say to me in the morning ‘are Liverpool playing tonight?’ when I’m getting ready as she knows the craic…..like I say wee foibles and eccentricities. I illogically believe that if any of my teams are to win I must go through the process but it helps me cope with the nerves.

This brings me to a point about the game. Both teams are in a no lose situation here and it’s an amazing place to be. The key to winning this game, and winning the semi final, (as it is eminently winnable) is to do the same thing that you always do. You create you routine and you stick to it. What wins, wins. What we did against Donegal last time won, what we did against Tyrone won, what we did against Donegal first time lost. Be brave, be bold and we win. Don’t be overawed, don’t be intimidated, when you walk round the field before the game as you are warming up look out into the crowd, soak it all up and feed off it. Be big, be strong, be manly, be Armagh.

Not to bring the mood down but Galway has some really good forwards. We have played a Tyrone team who has not hit the highs of last season with players dropping off the panel all over the place. Donegal is on a downward spiral and the reality is they had two excellent forwards. Galway is going to be a different challenge, they have numerous forwards that pose a threat and could stretch our defense. It isn't like they are not battle-hardened either having to beat Mayo and Roscommon to win their provincial title.

Agree with you- but that was a Tyrone team still filled with All-Stars and serious serious footballers and the last thing they will have wanted is to be dethroned by us. All is not well in the Donegal camp either but Thompson, Langan, Mogan and Brennan are all serious footballers as well as OBG and McHugh.

Galway a different challenge for sure but one we’re well able for. As BCB said- bring everything we did well in the Tyrone and Donegal games and we’ve every chancen.

Ach it was all in the moment, of course I want us to win every match we play & ultimately I want us to win silverware but in the heat of the moment during a match I just want to win that one & worry about what comes next when it happens :)
I know what you mean, I was getting more irritated at the talk of others rather than your post.

I think I got out of the wrong side of the bed....again.

Is it in any way likely that any of the injured lads make it back for next week? Or even a Semi, should we prevail?
P. Burns?
O. O’Neill?
TK?
C. Mackin?

Obvs Niall Grimley won’t - given the nature of his injury.

I know TK is out for the reminder of the season indefinitely. Not sure of the others.

Seen a video of O’Neill jumping up and down the sideline on Sunday when Rian scored the penalty. Would suggest he’s getting back to some fitness :D

TK is apparently out for rest of the year. Ciaran Mackin meant to be back in training this week?
No idea about the others but they would be some help.
