The weather wasn’t looking great for Sunday , so I was thinking the long ball into the square may be the tactic of choice and could gain rewards. However the latest forecast is showing it drying up in the afternoon with sunshine for throw in .

Bring the ponchos , suncream , wellies and sunglasses.
RM boots and bad tans ;)

Have we all seen the soon to be number 1 single in ireland?

Genuinely think we are winning this
Can’t see us losing
Depends on what team shows up.

The league we never played well but were never hammered and lost by small margins - was still a crap campaign.
Ulster we are coming in under the radar with a few confidence building wins albeit against opponents somewhat weaker than what was faced in the league. However, out confidence was slowly draining away in the league - I feel we are back to where we were when facing Galway last Summer. An Ulster championship and we are better placed for a run in the AI.

Everyone we are obviously aware of the chatter about an alleged incident or incidents.

Firstly a big thank you to all for trying to remain controlled and measured in their responses and we acknowledge those that posted comments and then removed them again without being asked by admins or advised others to be . That is truly appreciated along with the sensible comments by all others advising restraint around this.

As a community and I include all of you along with the admin and providers of this forum, we roundly condemn any violence of any kind including and especially at this time, of spousal abuse, domestic abuse or anything in any way that demeans another.

Recently there have been a couple of high profile incidents in the North Armagh area with the sad loss of life of young Natalie and also the victimisation of another young woman. Although of a completely different nature, the local gaels are also mourning the loss of the life of a young son of a prominent GAA family (and we realise that's not in the context of the chat, but wish to acknowledge their sorrow at this time of great joy within the county looking forward to a big day out).

On the alleged incident widely reported, please in addition to comments already made, remember that there is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty and everyone has that right, much as I'm sure many (including myself at times) will find it hard to accept. Social media is not the place to have this "investigated".

This forum is a place to express feelings on matters GAA and GAA related, in particular within and about our own county, so this falls correctly at this time.

However we believe that this is not a time to discuss details or allegations, other than to acknowledge there have been some made. Not one of the posts left remaining on the discussion are considered to be inflammatory and therefore we will NOT be removing any more at this time. If anyone objects and have a reasonable thought on why a comment should be removed, then please DM me and I will reconsider it.

All we ask now is that everyone leaves it at that with no further discussion on that matter until it is resolved or becomes clearer on an outcome. Whichever way it concludes, you have my word, that there will be no restriction on comment, in a separate thread as long as it is kept sensible.

Please return to the important business of the weekend and can I wish everyone a safe journey and most enjoyable day in Clones as we return and take home a trophy it has been too long awaited on.

Ulster Council statement

Ulster GAA has commented ahead of Sunday’s Ulster Senior Football Championship Final in Clones.

In a statement Provincial Secretary and CEO Brian McAvoy urged people travelling to the game to respect the occasion and make it a joyous one for all.

He said; “Clones will be beaming on Sunday with a full capacity St. Tiernach’s Park hosting the showpiece game of Gaelic Football calendar in the province. The GAA prides itself on being a community and family organisation and we want Sunday’s game to be a celebration of all that is good about our Association and a great day for the GAA in Ulster.

“Unfortunately, isolated actions by a very small minority of supporters at both semi-finals did nothing to enhance our status within the community and I appeal to all supporters to by all means ‘get behind’ their team, but to do so in a way which is respectful to everyone, irrespective of their creed, gender, tradition, political opinion, or indeed which team they support.”

In light of recent events, McAvoy also addressed the issue of domestic abuse.

He said; “While we cannot comment or make judgement on any specific allegation or allegations, Ulster GAA does not condone any form of domestic violence. We are proud to have joined with White Ribbon NI in pledging to never commit, condone or remain silent about violence against women. We encourage and support anyone who has been a victim of such abuse not to suffer in silence but to avail of the statutory and voluntary support services that are available in the community.”

Lads really think enough has been said about the matter on this forum. I accept it was an official statement from ulster gaa.

But this thread is for the Ulster GAA Championship maybe we should all start sticking to that

On a different topic - has everyone heard the Armagh Bus is Coming single released by some lads in South Armagh?

I certainly wouldn't recommend it....
