Everyone we are obviously aware of the chatter about an alleged incident or incidents.
Firstly a big thank you to all for trying to remain controlled and measured in their responses and we acknowledge those that posted comments and then removed them again without being asked by admins or advised others to be . That is truly appreciated along with the sensible comments by all others advising restraint around this.
As a community and I include all of you along with the admin and providers of this forum, we roundly condemn any violence of any kind including and especially at this time, of spousal abuse, domestic abuse or anything in any way that demeans another.
Recently there have been a couple of high profile incidents in the North Armagh area with the sad loss of life of young Natalie and also the victimisation of another young woman. Although of a completely different nature, the local gaels are also mourning the loss of the life of a young son of a prominent GAA family (and we realise that's not in the context of the chat, but wish to acknowledge their sorrow at this time of great joy within the county looking forward to a big day out).
On the alleged incident widely reported, please in addition to comments already made, remember that there is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty and everyone has that right, much as I'm sure many (including myself at times) will find it hard to accept. Social media is not the place to have this "investigated".
This forum is a place to express feelings on matters GAA and GAA related, in particular within and about our own county, so this falls correctly at this time.
However we believe that this is not a time to discuss details or allegations, other than to acknowledge there have been some made. Not one of the posts left remaining on the discussion are considered to be inflammatory and therefore we will NOT be removing any more at this time. If anyone objects and have a reasonable thought on why a comment should be removed, then please DM me and I will reconsider it.
All we ask now is that everyone leaves it at that with no further discussion on that matter until it is resolved or becomes clearer on an outcome. Whichever way it concludes, you have my word, that there will be no restriction on comment, in a separate thread as long as it is kept sensible.
Please return to the important business of the weekend and can I wish everyone a safe journey and most enjoyable day in Clones as we return and take home a trophy it has been too long awaited on.
