Folks let's not waste time engaging with the "members" and "new members" suddenly appearing today here and clearly trolling us all. Just hit block or ignore.

Analysis tomorrow as today was long enough

That feels far worse than even the derry and galway penalty defeats. The players must be completely distraught. Despite coming so close agsin we were poor overall . Most players were below par with the exception of Forker and Rian who were superb. We only had 9 shots from play in 75mins of normal time. Then went 20mins in ET without scoring. The slower place suited Monaghan who are masters of possession play.

I'm devestated after that, last year I was proud for how we went out on our shield and can half understand defensive displays against Kerry's and Dublin's and such but can't understand it against Monaghan. For me there are some who never say a negative word about the manager and there are some who never say a positive word about him and I'm somewhere in the middle. For me him taking a forward off for a defender before throw in showed me how we where going to play and that's on management but players fisting over the bar when 1 on 1 is not management fault and it's makes me think we have lack of killer instinct, this loss hurts more than any in last 4 years and any positives from the year are gone in my opinion, it's like they over thought the game. it is sickening

We certainly get a rollercoaster ride every year with this team!
Gutted for everyone involved that they didn't get a shot at the holy grail together as we all know this is the end of the current regime.
Effort = 100% - fair play for what they have done for the county and while today was v disappointing - we can be proud of their efforts!

Don’t even know where to begin. We should be in an All Ireland Semi Final, and in my opinion it’s down to management. I don’t want to scapegoat because I know they’ve given their all for us but dropping Turbo for a defender set the tone for the day- fear of losing vs the desire to win. Coming in to this I feared it would become a game of chess but had hoped the extra week would have stood to us- alas it was the former that turned out to be right.
I’m absolutely devastated tonight and can only imagine how the players are feeling. We can dress this up all we want but we should be beating Monaghan.

Why were we so cautious today? Surely we should have been confident if we went at Monaghan we would beat them
We show far too much respect to teams - and I'm including every Ulster team in that. Cautious against Kerry / Dubs surely but my God, why can't we just go down fighting rather than whimpering to a tight loss against an inferior (just about) side once again.. so frustrating.
On the other hand, maybe we're just not good enough.

Ah so disappointing....we a want the team to do well. Honestly gutted - as we have been so often recently.
I think it could be a time for change - 5 or 6 players may decide to call it a day.

I think the management should do the same - end of an era, start of a new one.

Could write chapter and verse about today, but what's the point.

We had more to offer, but we stayed in our cage. Regret, heartbreak - I'm not sure how much more this group can take. It feels like it could be the end of an era tonight.

Counties like our own don't get many shots at the big time. To let one pass by without throwing a decent punch at it is just desperately sad.

Nothing to say about the game other than disappointment. We didn’t play well. Congrats to Monaghan.
Penalties. They’re part of the game now so no point complaining but why rotate through the same takers? If required after the first 5 then move through the rest of the team. I feel so bad for Comiskey.

On McGeeney. If he has earned one thing it is the right to make his own decision on his future. I have my opinion on what that decision should be but will leave discussing it for now.
And when do we get to tell members of this board when they can and cannot post their thoughts. Wise up

Just home.

Like driving through treacle.

General thoughts on the game can wait until to tomorrow. But I will say this, Vinny Corey and his management team get an awful lot out of very little.

I hope I was as gracious as I tried to be to the fantastic Monaghan supporters around me. It was an immense day for their county.

Jealous of them all the same.
