I'm devestated after that, last year I was proud for how we went out on our shield and can half understand defensive displays against Kerry's and Dublin's and such but can't understand it against Monaghan. For me there are some who never say a negative word about the manager and there are some who never say a positive word about him and I'm somewhere in the middle. For me him taking a forward off for a defender before throw in showed me how we where going to play and that's on management but players fisting over the bar when 1 on 1 is not management fault and it's makes me think we have lack of killer instinct, this loss hurts more than any in last 4 years and any positives from the year are gone in my opinion, it's like they over thought the game. it is sickening

We certainly get a rollercoaster ride every year with this team!
Gutted for everyone involved that they didn't get a shot at the holy grail together as we all know this is the end of the current regime.
Effort = 100% - fair play for what they have done for the county and while today was v disappointing - we can be proud of their efforts!

Don’t even know where to begin. We should be in an All Ireland Semi Final, and in my opinion it’s down to management. I don’t want to scapegoat because I know they’ve given their all for us but dropping Turbo for a defender set the tone for the day- fear of losing vs the desire to win. Coming in to this I feared it would become a game of chess but had hoped the extra week would have stood to us- alas it was the former that turned out to be right.
I’m absolutely devastated tonight and can only imagine how the players are feeling. We can dress this up all we want but we should be beating Monaghan.

Why were we so cautious today? Surely we should have been confident if we went at Monaghan we would beat them
We show far too much respect to teams - and I'm including every Ulster team in that. Cautious against Kerry / Dubs surely but my God, why can't we just go down fighting rather than whimpering to a tight loss against an inferior (just about) side once again.. so frustrating.
On the other hand, maybe we're just not good enough.

Ah so disappointing....we a want the team to do well. Honestly gutted - as we have been so often recently.
I think it could be a time for change - 5 or 6 players may decide to call it a day.

I think the management should do the same - end of an era, start of a new one.

Nothing to say about the game other than disappointment. We didn’t play well. Congrats to Monaghan.
Penalties. They’re part of the game now so no point complaining but why rotate through the same takers? If required after the first 5 then move through the rest of the team. I feel so bad for Comiskey.

On McGeeney. If he has earned one thing it is the right to make his own decision on his future. I have my opinion on what that decision should be but will leave discussing it for now.
And when do we get to tell members of this board when they can and cannot post their thoughts. Wise up

Just home.

Like driving through treacle.

General thoughts on the game can wait until to tomorrow. But I will say this, Vinny Corey and his management team get an awful lot out of very little.

I hope I was as gracious as I tried to be to the fantastic Monaghan supporters around me. It was an immense day for their county.

Jealous of them all the same.

Still trying to figure out that free against Ethan when he broke the ball near the end of extra time. Ross munnelly on off the ball praised Lane for his consistency, the media must have been put on watch by the president not to criticise the refs

He’s had a few too many and just posted the same thing about 15 times. Valid opinion and all which he’s entitled to but jesus give it a rest

I don't think McGeeney was to blame for today. The players although give it their all have become limited. That being said he is responsible for our style of play and it has been crap all season. We only needed that 65/35 balance between attack and defence, not a complete reversal. I think the amount of time McGeeney has had is insane and his antics are not a good look for us and it has got to the point where he has a bad reputation with referees and it's being taken out on the teams.

Duffy has become ordinary and doesn't seem to have confidence.

Grugan and Campbell have been off pace all season.

There is a huge problem when O'Neill plays and that isn't O'Neills fault. He is 24 and is the goto guy and I think the other forwards lack the confidence to go up and score.

Correct me if I'm wrong but did Burns play? He would have been a man to bring on in the last 15 minutes.

Conor lane was poor enough. Was very yellow card happy with us but not with Monaghan. Umpires and linesman love getting involved when we are playing, crap going on in the other game and nothing was ever said.

Alot of people got cocky with drawing Monaghan, we don't suit the favourites tag. We are a team that likes to be in the gutter looking up and shooting for the stars but too many get carried away every year. It's great to have a bit of optimism but gives the opposition the respect they deserve. Another note on fans, great to see Armagh and Monaghan fans punching the sh1T out of each other at the end of ET on the hill.

Well at least we don’t have to witness Armagh take a hammering from a Kerry or Dublin in the semis.

For all the talk Kerry aren’t going well they really put Tyrone to the sword. They just know how to peak come the business end of the year.

The media hyping this championship up that it’s as wide open as it’s ever been, but it’ll just go to one of the two big dogs like it always does.
