In all seriousness though, what’s the situation regarding the county boards profits? I’m assuming the county board are liable to pay a cut to the mafia... I mean, government?

And even though the GAA are an All Ireland 32 county association, it would be Big Liz’s mafia who have their hands out for a slice of our county boards profits?

If that indeed is the case, maybe that’s why these big crowds seem a lot smaller than they actually are.

Have to disagree, we had our printed downloaded tickets with us and if anything it was quicker, no queuing to buy tickets, straight to turnstile and into ground.. very simple process

A lot of hassel getting into the game with those supporters who down loaded their tickets, officials seemed I'll prepared with only one scanner in operation.
The turnstyle I went through were not prepared for my downloaded ticket, no scanner, but let me through any way, so I wonder is this why only 4500 attendance number was reported when it actually seemed alot more.

The attendance last night was less than 5 thousand according to some websites , must have been a few in under the wire , @PatMustard wasn't even on the roof of the houses so even he must have sneaked in .
tbf a fair few kids and u16s which didn`t require tickets
i had 2 u16s with me
so around 5000 paying customers was probably correct.

looking at the match, some observations.
1 we struggled with runners down the middle
2 forward line shaping up well with Jamie and murnin still to come in , it definitely augurs well
3 would like to see mc kay and indeed hughes starting in defence as both are decent ball playing defenders.
4 shields is definitely an asset when the game loosens up as he definitely can create space.
although cavan may have been poor our long range shooting was a joy to behold and for me even at this early stage promotion looking a distinct possibility.

I remember this being explained by bainisteoir on the old forum and everyone going in gets counted (allegedly) by the turnstiles. It's the number of clicks that's counted. The example if I'm getting this right, is the capacity is 20K (rough number) and if that was all adults and each brought 2 children then that would make it 60k at a game. Yes that's a massive exaggeration, but you get my point. 5000 on a chilly Saturday evening in January isn't bad I guess.
