A long time observation re head injuries

It is right and proper that play is stopped for medical attention
The player should then be taken off the field and can only go back on at the next break in play

This will stop all the play acting from the tickles around the head

Today was a get out of jail card as regards promotion. Kildare have done us a big favour. Win next week and we get promoted. Clare away will be a tough ask as they need a result to be sure of safety as well. Tight division.
draw next week and we get promoted westmeath won't beat kildare

Been thinking about the ref. I’m all for refs blowing up if they see a defender pulling a forward off e ball. Or vice verse. But they have to be consistent. You can’t tell me that over the whole game not one Roscommon player dragged an armagh man or pulled a shirt off the ball. Got to stress though the ref didn’t contribute to our loss last night.

He certainly did not. Roscommon were simply better and got better as the game went on. It was disappointing to see us collapse the way we did when they got in front early in the second half. We have decent forwards but we're not using them enough, with them playing so deep. Maybe we need teams to worry about us more. But, our full back is so prone to bad decision making and indiscipline, it might explain why we play so many bodies back there. Until we get a couple of commanding figures in our backline and cut out the bad decisions, it's going to be difficult to see us making much more progress.

Looks like them uns are in serious danger of being relegated from Div 1
They've to play Mayo away next and Monaghan play meath
Going to be a busy weekend coming up provided they don't close down sport

Does playing very defensively not allow the other team free men to run at us? We had 15 men in our own half last night.

I'd like to see the opposite - keeping at least 4 forwards up the pitch. Teams would then keep men back. Imagine Turbo, Jamie, Rian and Soupy playing as forwards. Opposition would definitely keep men back to cover.

Our tactics are hindering us and not playing to our strengths.

We would be destroyed by the likes of Donegal and Tyrone if we don't drop men back unfortunately on last night's showing.

Also, I'm not talking about free men running at us - Roscommon realised that they simply had to take their men on every time in the second half last night and they got through on numerous occasions with no extra men covering. Maybe this can be solved by moving stronger personel in the panel into the back line.

I do think we will be in D1 next season and it may be a tough year for us up there. We will definitely lose more games than we will win and probably come straight back down.

It may sound crazy though but it will hopefully help long term in the development of this team. To have a realistic chance of competing in Ulster and becoming a regular in Super 8s in the future we have to be playing D1.

It will take patience though and may be the case of bouncing betweening D1 and D2 for 3 years before we find our feet in D1.

We have some super potential in Armagh - Jarly Og, 3 O'Neills & Turbo for starters. I would like to see Barry McCambridge and TK from CE about the squad. Is Cian McConville on the panel?

We have a right few who should be reaching their prime - Grimley, McKay, McCabe, Jemar, McElroy, Ethan - some of these lads need to step up a bit more.

We also have the experience (and hopefully leadership) the likes of Soupy, Grugan, Burns etc

There is potential in our county if we could just get it right.

Defensively we are really poor, small, easily turned, unable to win personal battles. I had high hopes for Aaron McKay but he hasn’t learned his lessons from the Mayo defeat from last year. As individuals too much space given and total lack of pressure in order to put a tackle in. They seem to do some of the work and then stop without making any contact. There’s a manliness of man to man defending, a particular skill set that a lot of players now don’t have!! Appears to me that they would rather ghost behind each other in a fake security of mass zonal defence.

I think we will go up, worryingly for what that may bring.

Agree with all of that except for the last bit. Not worried in the slightest about going up, obviously nowhere near Dublin or Kerry but we showed last year in the championship we’re well fit for the likes of Mayo and Monaghan. We’d be favourites for the drop if we do go up but I’d take a few years bouncing between D1 and 2 rather than 2 and 3 as we have been. Plenty of good young players coming through and (hopefully) D1 will be a learning curve.
