YES. Finish the competition that was already ongoing.
I still can't get my head around the obsession with playing the Championship. I totally get that in a normal year it would be about the money but if there will be no supporters attending matches surely this can't be the reason for the big push about playing the Championship.
Don't panic. I'l be there. I'm told I'm mega important and they can't play unless I'm there so they can't. I'll be streaming it on my super premium service and have even invested in a Nokia 6610 with 1 megapixel camera so the quality will be impressive. Watch this space, but don't let @PatMustard know. He'd want a cut!!

Nokia 6610? I could see more from the top of the cathedral steps on a foggy night facing the wrong direction with no glasses on.

@pablo - knockout county championship makes sense. Maybe if all goes well, the championship will be played before the winter weather.

If they manage to complete that, they might finish the last couple of league matches. They could do that in the depths of winter, as that’s when it’s mostly played anyway.

The money is in the county game, and counties might be better able to manage/afford testing, quarantine facilities or whatever. Maybe clubs wouldn’t be able to manage those logistics/costs etc. So in a way, playing the county game first makes some sense.
Aren’t they playing the club championships before the county one tho?

Club championship is supposed to be before inter county championship

I'd be in favour of starting our leagues and play every week with a pure knockout championship in between league games. At this time of the year from August could our pitches withstand normal fixtures?
Adults would get 11 games with a one round league.
Then there would be underage and during August the time games can start at reduces to basically Saturday and Sundays only available.
Coupled with other codes looking access to pitches everything may need to be simplified.
I think our current championship structure takes 7 weeks to play. But it may take more than that to allow for preparation for semi-finals and finals. So say 9 weeks.

The other issue is our championship is based on league standings. This doesn't appear to work given timescales - 7 weeks for leagues and 7 weeks for championship means November finish and with inter County supposed to start in October that crossover can't work
So perhaps a one-off change for this year maybe needed.

Read the goddamn thing you lazy............Oh yeah sorry I forgot about your funny turns. Aye it mentions reduced attendances!

So would it be whomever turns up 1st gets in?!?! Can you imagine the crowds there 3 hours before throw in just in the hopes of getting in o_O
Or will we all have to write letters to the GAA/County Board outlining why we (as individuals) should be allowed to attend?
However I am ok because @cailín beag88 has already told me that the attendance should be her, her Dad, me, my Dad & my brother & I think she knows the right people ;):D

Are they planning to play the club leagues then? Or just championship?

They could always play an open draw straight knockout championship, instead of one based on league standings.

I’m not sure we have the time for finishing leagues AND championships for both club/county.

Surely if attendances are reduced, tickets would be on sale online beforehand. As you say, we can’t have thousands of fans congregating at the gate when social distancing is still going on.

The best written letter gets a ticket. Someone’s been watching Father Ted again :D

As long as Season ticket holders get priority for buying the tickets I'd be happy enough ;):D

We have a good chance of making a run in the AI championship this year given the boys have been training away collectively during the pandemic, although I fear other countys are most likely been doing the same thing.

Nah ticket things I'd say. I can sell ya few right now that are guaranteed entry into any game in any ground. Bought them on that Glentoran website place!

After the thousands of people allowed at the recent protests packed like sardines how can any government forbid people going to a football match. What's the difference.

There were hardly tickets on sale for the protests though.

The numbers protesting are just baffling. I can’t get my head around it. Not the cause, but why anyone would do it during a pandemic.
