I'm changing things slightly partly as a deflection, so:

Most on here that comment regular agree that Kerry and Dublin are the two big threats this year (I have and still disagree about one of them) but did anyone watch or see the Dublin v Roscommon game yesterday?? Holy (add whatever cus word you use) was it brutal. Roscommon were unbelievably boring and hard to watch and Dublin "mostly" had no answer to them. Only for the ref and some and some honestly blatant decisions against Roscommon, the dubs would have been beaten and beaten well. Although it ended in a draw it could have been a rerun of our game the previous evening. (I'm going to say it) Jesus football has gone to hell completely. It's win by any means or method. I'm going to switch over to the roundball game and follow some big team like Dollingstown Blues just for some excitement. I've got a taste for it from doing @PatMustard 's big competitions. Now Paddy Power, let me at it.

Oh dear, what have I done to you, James? But Isn’t Dollingstown Blues a marching band?

It’s all about the result these days. To hell with the spectacle.

Say what you like about lumping the ball into the square tactics, but it has served us well this season. But it’s also one of the few times you’d see excitement in some games these days.

Oooooopsy. Wrong forum again. My bad. Now where's me mate Billy of Orangeade?? Just don't tag @William Of Orange because he'll think it's his time to get out of the lamp!!

Have to admit, I did feel like leaving with 10 mins to go.... (but didn't !!) I found it one of the most frustrating games I can remember watching. Between the numerous scoring chances Armagh scuppered, their lack of bite, and watching that s**t WM keep ball time wasting, it was like a form of torture.
With 10 mins to go I honestly thought we looked well beaten and I would be one of the more optimistic supporters !!!
As for the support getting behind the team when they were down. Where I was standing, I felt the supporters were getting really frustrated with the team - one particular play in the first half, when Rian (I think) played the ball back ways when an attack was clearly on triggered a very vocal angry reaction. True, when the goal went in all was well again and the atmosphere completely changed , but that was the first time I could sense the crowd really losing patience with the team.
That was Ben Crealey that played the ball back - v.frustrating as there was two slightly more advanced positive options laterally. Morgan got the ball and broke forward. Jarly Og who usually would do the same was non-existent Saturday.

Right Tyrone match only a few days alright. What are we thinking in terms of starting team.

I would be inclined to give the team that started another chance this weekend.

Morgan went off with an injury I think so McCambridge is as a straight swap would be the only change I would make.

Turbitt maybe unlucky not to come back in after coming up with the goal. But feel he might be better option coming off the bench

Would bench Soupy and have him coming off the bench. Nugent should probably be dropped as well to be brutally honest.

Is there any indication of the neutral venue for the Galway match.
Had thought maybe a Croke Park double header with someone and also heard Breffni was the likely choice.

Could see Nugent being dropped, Shane mc P starting, and maybe a few others such as Turbo, mc quillan and comisky/hall

I’d imagine they are waiting to see which round 3 games are meaningful. No point trying to fill Croke Park with a meaningless double header.

Was at the game the other day. Haven't watched it back - just the hghlights. Is the full game on youtube? I have searched for it but could't find it.

There's no doubt we got lucky the other day. I do believe there was the inevitable psychological fatigue from the Derry game - 2 weeks ago or not.

For once we got lucky. Every game we didn't pick up points from in the league this year we weren't beat by more than a kick of the ball in any. We had it handy enough on our way to an Ulster Final and obviously we lost out on penalties.

So it's a rarity for these lads to come out with a narrow and fortunate win. I think it's safe to say they deserved a bit of luck. But hats off to Westmeath - they put in a huge performance and were defintely unlucky.

Some of the posts regarding the manager aren't surprising. Kieran will be well aware that, despite the win, the lads will have to up their intensity big time for Tyrone. But they will. You would have to go back to Armagh's defeat at the very start of the championship in Ballybofey last year to question intensity and effort.

Division 3 team or not this was a serious test. We have two points on the board unlike a Derry, a Kerry or a Dublin.

Make no mistake there was massive pressure on Armagh the other evening. Winning a game in the balance is not something we are accustomed to. So although it was no great performance we know we can get over the line in a tight encounter.

The 'going to games' and 'not going to games' is all a bit petty. If going to the game is possible I'll always go but if people can't make it for legitimate reasons they are no less an Armagh fan.

I myself suffer from mental health issues (predominantly anxiety & social anxiety) and crowds are far from my comfort zone.

Along with lockdowns etc many of us had a tough few years and this had an impact on many of us.

The world is not black and white in terms of people not going to a game or going. Some of our best supporters may not be able to attend matches.

Personally I don't like the negative comments regarding our manager. But after a poor peformance it's expected.

But a win is a win. We have 2 points on the board - not as convincingly as expected - but 2 nonetheless.

Attention turns to Omagh. I genuinely think we beat them. Maybe winning tight games will become a habit. I'd welcome it with open arms!

Win against Tyrone and we are top 2 in the group so at worst home advantage against a 3rd placed team.

This weekend is the biggest game of our season, and It just may be one that defines it.

Its hard to see how most games won't be meaningful. There were a number of draws and mini upsets and with only one team missing out, there will almost certainly be something to play in every group in this final round of fixtures:

Derry v Clare
Monaghan v Donegal
Kerry v Louth
Mayo v Cork
Galway v Armagh
Tyrone v Westmeath
Dublin v Sligo
Roscommon v Kildare

If Croke Park is to get a double header it will almost certainly be Armagh given the following we will bring.
Even if it is mathematically impossible to finish 1st, teams will be pushing hard to finish 2nd as it guarantees a home fixture against a 3rd place team.

Would love to see Cian McConville get a start. Ronan O'Toole a testament that size and physique isn't a necessity. Love to see this young lad get a chance. What a talent.

I just want to see us play attacking football instead of this boring negative stuff. We have the forwards that can cause damage to most sides in Ireland.
It really isn't as simple as that. There seems to be this notion that we can just impose our will on any team, anytime…completely forgetting that the opposition come with their own gameplan, defensive structure etc etc.

There were a number of occasions v Westmeath where we put a long ball into the danger zone and it came straight back out, often times we didn’t get the ball back for minutes at a time. We also loads of fast attacks that came from turnovers sometimes resulting in scores, sometimes not.

Even the ball that Ben Crealey played 30 metres backwards (and got booed for), 2 or 3 forward passes later we won a free kick and scored it.

Colm O’Rourke declared he would go to Meath and play football the old traditional, attacking way and do well. They did play that way and were rubbish in both league and Leinster championship.

with that fixture list i really dont see a double header in croke park
unless mayo v cork

looking at saturday could see a raft of changes
mc cambridge, mc partland, Turbitt, Mc Quillan and cumiskey all starting
duffy, nugent, morgan( injured) crealey and campbell could be sacrificed with campbell maybe suited for a second half role
really dont fear tyrone

Agree with all this, we like every other team are trying to win, that is the goal, not entertain (unfortunately that's the nature of the game nowadays).

Don't really see it changing unless we went to a 13 a side game or introduced a rule where by you had to leave say 4 players in the opposition half at all times (and even that is only enforceable at county level as club games wouldn't have the personnel to do it)

Cork v Mayo would be the only suitable one really and even then I doubt there would be many Cork fans

Yeah I think 13 a side would help. I know it’s not easy playing against packed defences, and you have to bide your time etc, but the crab football we see really does my head in.

Take 4 players out of the equation and it would leave more space. Keeping so many players in one half just isn’t feasible. I’d probably even go further and trial 11 or 12 a side, but we all know that never going to happen.
