Can we firstly ask everyone to take a breath and relax a little. There was a serious incident at a game today and stories are flooding around the place. I have seen images of the injury sustained and it does look bad. I wasn't there so have no way of knowing exactly how it occurred or who was involved.
As for naming individuals, heresay is not an ideal way to describe the incident or name anyone. Even being in control of facts, then using those should only be done if absolutely accurate and in circumstances that would not affect any investigation. However as a discussion forum, individuals may discuss any of these topics. Other members are welcome to correct errors like wrongly naming someone without actually naming the correct person. PLEASE STOP THE "Well I heard........" comments. They just look stupid. We will not remove or edit comments if we have no way of proving that they are wrong. As soon as we are in possession of facts that allow that, then we will act. We have often said that it is down to members to police this forum and it does well without our interference, so we will only step in if it gets heated.
HOWEVER we do find it strange that a member claiming to be from a club, playing in a game only a short distance away, had decided not to attend that game for whatever reason, but drove a considerable distance from home to attend a game they claim should not have had any supporters at it so they could comment on admission charges and numbers at a game with an incident. It makes our job extremely difficult when a member asks us to look at comments they claim are not true, yet continue to post things others claim are not true
