If the hurling clubs or any other unfootball club had a say in this it is total joke
Nothing is going to change over the next year. The time for talking is over, McGeeney is manager for 2024. Just because the vote didn't go anywhere near the way some wanted, even if it did you would have needed a few to change their mind to get a majority.
Why?If the hurling clubs or any other unfootball club had a say in this it is total joke
Where did you hear it’s his last year? Was this confirmed?Aye it is McGeeneys last year in charge
We should park the discussion until he steps away next June.
With the players we have promotion should be a certainty regardless of the manager. Somehow I have a feeling when it happens we will be told, this justifies geezers appointment and that's enough for him to have yet another year.
Dual clubs do not have two votes. You are right about the 48 clubs
BUT the club vote is 51. Dual clubs have two votes
Any reasons why you think some abstained? I'm guessing that when the vote was being taken that 46 voted yes first and those that you say abstained didn't put their hand up because they realised the vote was going to be a Yes.
The county board is made up up of club delegates and officers. This is the same in every county.
The management committee is a subset of the officers and that membership is detailed in county bye laws.
Those allowed to vote is governed by the official guide.
It's done, it's over.
This isn't a club delegate v county officer vote. It's everyone's vote.
A lot of clubs discussed this and mandated their delegate to vote.
In this instance if there was just 1 or 2 votes in it the result is the same. Just like an election for a councillor etc..
We sometimes don't like results of elections - our own history shows that. But that's the way it is.
We move on.

Nobody is saying don’t criticise him but when the criticism becomes personal - not saying that’s you - then it’s wrongI don't understand this agenda where it is almost 'how dare you criticise geezer after all he has done for armagh'. In my opinion he does not deserve another year as manager. I have nothing against him and i feel he has done his best up to now, but he is so miles off it tactically and its hurting us big time. We lost an ulster final and ai 1/4 final down to HIS negative, rotten and fearful tactics. But hey ho he is the manager for the year and i will stick back him and the boys for what its worth.
How many times have we felt that de ja vu feeling following armagh under geezer? Easily 5/6 times without diving too deep into my memory (although can point them out if anyone wants to hear them). The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome.
Unfortunately it was a done deal, no need for the meeting - the county board wanted him to stay on.I don't understand this agenda where it is almost 'how dare you criticise geezer after all he has done for armagh'. No would have meant nominations being requested by a certain date, interviews and then a ratificationUnfortunately it was a done deal, no need for the meeting - the county board wanted him to stay on.
In fact, Geezer should have been sent packing a few times over recent years. If he had not been such an iconic player, he would have been let go long ago.
As for the meeting and the vote - how could delegates really vote yes or no when they do not know what no means (ie we do not have any alternative names who have been approached or who might be interested).
