Orange tinted glasses there. You wouldn’t be saying that if we were still in Division 2 and fancied for promotion and definitely not if in division 3 and fancied for promotion. No, I'm suggesting we play the made up League they have designed for this year with no promotion/relegation.
I wonder what it's like to be back on a training field
Yeah. That’s why they have two pots. Lots A is the 5 teams who haven’t been in the prelim round the the last two years. That’s why we are in that potI could be wrong but is there not a weighting that whoever played prelimary the previous 2 years cannot play prelininary this year? That means we cant draw Monaghan, Cavan, Tyrone or Derry? I think it come into force from last year. Not 100% sure on whether it covered the last 2 years from 2020 or that 2020 was the first year and 2021 the second year, meaning teams drawn in 2019 prelimary could be in it this year as well.
And do what instead? These geographical divisions are a total joke. Play the league properly or don’t bother.

To stop teams having to do overnight stays, reduce the risk blah blahWhat is the reason for the split league?
Is it to reduce the time players are behind the wheel (assuming they are driving to games themselves)... or is it about reducing the time teams are together on buses?
And do what instead?
So basically friendlies? What good would that do anyone? As has been asked before, if we were in division 2/3 and hoping for promotion would you be so against this split league?See a previous post my myself. Play the competition they have concocted as a 1 off stand alone competition with no bearing on league positions when things (hopefully) return to normal next year.

Don’t think they’d be friendlies if lads were playing for a championship jersey! And as for your second question- I’d be all for it if it meant us getting promoted lol. But it’s been too long since we’ve been playing the big boys, would love the Dubs or Kerry coming up to a full Athletic grounds next yearSo basically friendlies? What good would that do anyone? So we can be drawn against Down, Fermanagh, Donegal or Antrim in the draw next week. Id rather avoid Fermanagh if I'm honest, it would be a turgid affair. Donegal the toughest we can draw and I'd rather them than have to watch 70 mins of Fermanagh sit deep and try and counter. Antrim would be a bit of a novelty as we haven't drawn them in championship proper in long and many a day
We played them in a qualifier in the not too distant pastMust be nearly 40 years since we played Antrim in the championship. I can’t recall any meetings from the mid-80’s onwards anyway.
I’d be fairly confident we could beat Fer, Down, Ant home or away. Not so much with Donegal though.
