Talking to Micky Savage today, told me that if Mcgeeney doesn't impress early on this year he'll not hesitate to change the management set up. Glad to see a chairman who's prepared to make changes.

Change the management set up is not the same as getting rid of the manager.

The answer given by the county chairman is what you would expect if the question was asked as the post would suggest. What do you expect him to say - we will let the management have a bye no matter how crap things are going! I would also be surprised if the county board is so autocratic that one man can make big decisions like that.

The quote hardly came from a reliable source, its Shiftya for christ sake and it was his first post

So either Shitftya is telling the truth & the Co. chairman has already become a liability (with his length in time in office at the Co. board I would doubt it) or...shiftya has vivid imagination....members - you decide

Reading the 'A to Z' in the Irish News at the moment. Some of the contributors on this thread may care to read letter E and the speech given by Slaughtneil camogie captain Aoife Ni Chaiside. " Ni neart go cur le cheile. "

Did anyone else hear that Armagh took a bit of a tanking yday from a weakened Donegal team? Apparently the b team so to speak played the moy beforehand. Not sure how that went

Possibly not the correct thread to post this on but I will leave that to Admin to decide & move if necessary :)

I would be quite sure that any of the realists on here know we could be in for a very tough year as Armagh supporters.

I'm sure we all hoped we would be building on what was a reasonably good year in 2017 (with a few blips along the way :() but given the list of absentees going into 2018 & what is going to be a tough Division 3 campaign, we can but hope that those who have committed to the squad & ongoing project for Armagh football can rise to the challenge. Either way whatever happens, I like many others I see at our county matches up & down the country will be there to support whomever lines out in the Armagh jersey plus Geezer & his management team. Good luck to everyone involved for 2018 & thanks for some great memories from 2017.

Great optimism but why have so many players decided not to commit and would rather focus on Club apart from the lads who have education or travel desires

I would be fairly sure a few supporters want to lay the blame for this at Geezer's door, I am not one of those. I do not know why some players choose not to commit, but I would imagine there are various reasons: time, desire, personal reasons, work, family commitments, knowing the Dubs will win everything  plus the reasons you have stated. The management can only ask players to join the panel if a player says no that is an individual decision.

Yup, that pretty much sums it up.

Nothing to add, your honour.

To be honest we're not that pushed about what is discussed and where. On topic, off topic, no topic. As long as the discussions are sort of civilised, it's up to the members to continue where they feel it's best. We don't want one of those daft forums where everyone is crying about what is said or because it's off topic. It's an open discussion forum and that's the way it should be. Private messages of things that are inappropriate are very welcome, but we'd prefer no public slanging matches. We all saw enough of that before, however if a poster is 100% wrong, feel free to tell them.

We're expecting the forum to get busier and pick up pace with the new season about to start. Just to let everyone know, if you post something and remove it again, it's still in your history and we are able to see it. Making personal remarks about admin and the moderators is not appreciated especially as we haven't modified or removed a single post yet nor issued any warnings of any kind. We've had 3 issues which we resolved amicably by private message and appreciated the co-operation of those involved. Once again we emphasise that this is a members forum and the agenda is set by you, not by a county board or committee/sub-committee. We will continue to take a back seat role and enjoy the posts.
