Like it or not, senior county football for the foreseeable future is going to played in a defensive style.
All the successful counties have resorted to it especially when it comes to the big games.
Ideally do we not a system producing players than can step into this sort of system ?
Question is how early do we start to prep our youngsters to play this style of football ?

The rumour this past few weeks is that O’Rourke and Marsden have the job. Which makes the request for nominations from the clubs a box ticking exercise.

Also regarding U20s I thought it strange that re-appointment passed without further discussion. Nothing against the post holder but the initial appointment was a joint ticket with Oisin McConville who it would appear is no longer involved (open to correction). This happened before in Tyrone and one Mickey Harte subsequently applied and the rest as they say is history.

As we thought. They have the job but hardly surprising.

We will be back round for the 02 men’s second go at the jobs soon…

Heaven forbid the Under 16 management that won an All Ireland would have been given a chance!

Totally agree! Notwithstanding my reservations re AOR in general - the U16 management were communicative to parents, popular with the players & played a lovely brand of football as well as being ultimately successful and it’s a shame this success has not been rewarded with the minor job, they deserved it.

As I say, hardly surprising given the long history with the top underage job in the county.

Looking good at half time, although minor games are known for big swings,
