Have to say that this most recent splurge of slurry spreading is seriously disappointing. The negative and ignorant comments made by some people over the past few weeks would encourage most reasonable people to simply give this forum a pass…highlighted by the recent moronic comment questioning the courage of our players. Yes…OUR players!
The caliber of debate seems to have degraded to such a degree that it would hardly be acceptable in a local lodge of the DUP.
This team and this management is perfectly capable of giving us glorious and happy days in the months ahead, perhaps starting this coming Sunday, so lets rock and roll up to Omagh and give some hearty gulders in support. All things are still possible!
Well said.

A balanced post there Pablo. I agree with you, it is imperative that we stay in division 1 for next season, by our own means would be great and failing that I will gladly accept Co Mayo knocking at our door and giving us the gift of safety by taking points off Monaghan.

If we go down then we go down with Donegal. Add in that Cavan and Fermanagh could play out a draw this weekend to both book promotion to Division 2 or Down go up with either of them. 4 Ulster teams in division 2 next year is a nailed on cert at this stage and it would lead to another season of utter dross being played out. We have to stay up, the next 4 to 5 years of Armagh football could depend on us staying up, that is not an exaggeration. I'd fear for that Armagh squad if they get relegated. So by any means possible we have to stay up.

I think we will all park the debate on the quality of what we watch or want to watch come Sunday and beyond, if it's 15 behind the ball then so be it. It will be 15 Armagh men and subs and that's all that matters for this game. Come on Armagh
Fortunately, Down cannot get promoted owing to head to heads. But it does not change the point, we could get stuck in Division 2 playing a series of turgid games that did not advance us.
The 15 behind the ball is not necessarily the issue, we need to get something out of the attacks when we do move forward.

If you hear a rumour and know that if true it’s a big story there might well be a temptation to post here but surely you have to ask is the rumour true or at least likely to be true?

5 Cross players in and around the squad. 2 have been injured long term and now regrettably a third. Another is being edged out in an area of depth and the 5th seems resurgent having edged Hall for that role. No actual sign of a fall out.

I wouldn’t blame players if they had doubts about how we are playing but I don’t see any evidence of that being the case.

Just want to put paid to any rumours about Cian leaving panels or being injured etc. Cian has been available for every game to date, not carrying any injuries, not missing training, nothing of the rumours. That’s an absolute fact.

considering how poor we have bene int he forwards this year it makes it even more baffling that he has seen no game time

Shocking then so, that the best club forward in the county has seen no action this league campaign ( regardless of how he performs on a wednesday night in reserve friendlies!!!!) and we persist with out of form players and others who have been tried, tested and continue to add little value!!!

On another point

anyone else baffled by teams that play A v B teams in training?

So for talk sake we have rian at 14 marking our 7 or 8th best defender, while forker is marking our 7th 8th best forward. Who is anyone improving there.

I totally understand that its about getting systems in play and players getting to each other etc etc. But surly forker would be better and improve more in rian. (Just using these two as expmples).

Too much noise for the rumours not to be somewhat true, I am looking forward to the game and hope we can put a positive performance on and result. Feel we need to play to our strengths, roll on sunday

There’s a newspaper sitting on the table for weeks now, staring at me every time I’m eating me dinner. Wedding photograph on the front. I recognised the bride when I glanced at it weeks ago.

I kept thinking, I must get around to reading that. And sure enough, when I did... there he is. The man himself, he has went and got himself into a “mixed” marriage. A proper GAA mixed marriage and all! :D

I’ll light the fire with it later :p

Anyway, a belated congratulations to you @bcb1 and herself.
Thanks Pat, you’re absolutely right a proper Blackwater crossing day!

Chatting to a couple of ex county players who both feel that Cian will benefit from hardening of the ground
They also feel that this Sunday is one of biggest games Armagh have had in years

I was talking to an ex player and he said Cian might be a wee bit light and that a year of s&c will do him the world of good and in his words. People don't understand the level of county players that someone might class at club but county is a different animal,

Some of the best forwards ever were ‘a wee bit light’, colm cooper and jamie Clarke spring to mind but could name many more.

He’d of been marked by county level players in the Armagh senior championship so worthy of a shot at least.

Its not as tho the players that are so called physically stronger or better conditioned are setting the world alight for all their S&C.

Correct me if im wrong did we not take on eoin woods and justin cairns( could be wrong spelling) against glaway last year in an all irleand 1/4. I wouldnt say they are physically big players.

Also is woods injured? Cant remember him in any game this year.

I would think they would mix up the teams a bit
