Really not confident about Saturday at all! You can't even hope for it to click as we're going up against the stalemate system. We'll need to be v v patient - especially in the stands!!

My hope for Saturday (other than a win of course) is that those supporters who are able to attend (3pm on a Saturday doesn't suit everyone) get vocal in their support of OUR team from the minute the referee blows the whistle. Let the Fermanagh boys know they have entered enemy territory & they will get nothing easy. Let the referee from diving midget land know that he is in front of a home crowd & remind him of this constantly as he makes each & every decision.

I don't like it, in fact I despise that it is so prevalent in our game but I think if it's the case that you get rewarded for going to ground at the slightest contact it's time our players were less honest about staying on their feet in front of goal when touched. If other teams are at it & let's be honest we can all see Ricey "drop the knees" McMenamin's influence all over this current Fermanagh team, then we need to fight fire with fire. We know how Fermanagh will set up, we know they will suck every last ounce of joy out of what should still be an exhilarating game to watch & turn it into a slow snoozefest, with scores a rare occurrence, they will be out to win frees & we can't fall into their trap. Let's give them nothing easy, if they're going to get frees make them work damned hard to get them & nothing in close.

I want our boys to win, our boys need to win but I also sure as hell don't want to witness Fermanagh getting promoted to Division 1 on our home turf.

I expect to hear @Diarmi & @Eireogatron leading the orange & white faithful & I think it's high time you got out that cheerleader's outfit & pom poms @PatMustard ;) I'm hoping @Calm1 is not "working" & has his orange tinted glasses sparkling so that the glare blinds Sean Quigley for every free (all 3 of them :)) he tries to take. I'm sure I can count on @cailín beag88 @niall1980 @Throwball & @Ogs lad to give a rallying call if there is a lull in proceedings. Even @DooReg might leave his darkened room for this one & no doubt @Willie Frazer will be there fleg in hand.

So there's really only 1 thing left to say.........

No I'll be there, huddled in a corner trying to keep warm.

Hmmmmm! Funnily enough I spent a couple of hours today with a guy that is extremely knowledgeable about the games. Seriously way above anything I could dream of and he was talking about how to read teams and set up against the ultra defensive. He named several teams, us being one of them, that have a particular style and that we (all of these teams) try and suck others into our way of playing rather than playing to our own strengths. It beats us against teams like Fermanagh and as we seen against Donegal, a game he says we should have won if we'd have played even allowing for the conditions - insert usual line of "same for both teams"

You promised you wouldn’t tell anyone about that! :p

Oh all right then, I’ll wear it. But my flexibility ain’t what it used to be. I better not pull a hamstring. Me and Mrs M have tango lessons Sunday morning after early mass.

There are enough Armagh injuries without adding you to the long list :(

With our game being at 3pm that means we'll know the results of the other games you'll hear a big roar from the back of the stand from @Ard Mhacha 13 I'm sure if Tipperary,Clare & Cork have lost

It’s hard to know what results to hope/cheer for. Mathematically we can still get promoted afaik.

But we should just concentrate on beating Fermanagh. Let the other matches take care of themselves.

I think at this stage, that last line is key Pat. Like the game against Laois when our backs were to the wall and we were about 1000 points down at half time. Second half the shackles seemed to have been removed and we went for it, just coming up short because we had left too much to do. Right now it's still not too late so we should go for it. Let defenders defend and forwards attack and once they are in their "comfort zone" pop the ball over (or fire hard to the corner when the keeper is beaten - Fermanagh concede few goals because no-one gets close enough so over and between). Start fast and hard and make them play to expose their gaps. Sit back and invite them on is inviting them to a handy win.

Win and we're almost sure of security in two. A reasonable platform to improve next year. Lose and it's back in the hands of the gods and we could be back down. Not an option we deserve (I mean as supporters and not a team, as in that regard we get what we deserve most of the time) by remaining [mostly] faithful. Remaining top half will be a start. Then it's all guns blazing to show improvement in the Ulster Championship and a big day out mid May. From then on, let's just see.
