Where are we heading next week I wonder. Roscommon could be played in Clones as possibly Laois. Cork I don't know where we would go around Midlands...maybe tullamore?

Spoke to two people this morning both said it was too dear to fork out 36 quid for a couple , plus the early time did not suit a lot.
I thought the early time was great. But I’d say next weeks games will be 5 and 7 throw in as i’d say sky will be showing them

Performance may not have been pretty for 65 mins but think that’s exactly the type of victory the team/supporters needed, massive amount of character shown and great boost in morale for all. Andy Murnin a handful as per usual, Greg McCabe really maturing into a vital member of the team, Charlie his usual self and paddy burns continuing his progress doing a good job on their forward.
Think tullamore might be a more suitable venue than Mullingar- but all depends on what Sky want

How did the Clare player (midfielder no 8 i think) not get a black card early on when Shields was going through on goal? Was it not as bad as it looked to me? I thought shields was stepping around him to go clean through and he was dragged down

It's obvious then - Newbridge :D

Could see double headers in places like Breffni, Thurles or Tullamore.

I wouldn't have thought so, Breffni is closed, there is only one team south of Thurles and Tullamore is hardly large enough for 2 games.
Armagh v Cork would be in Portlaoise, I'd say.

The black card isn't used for cynical fouling, in practice it's only used when a player uses his own body weight to drag a man to the ground as was the two examples yesterday with their 5 and shields.

Yeah forgot about Breffni.

If Ulster team v Roscommon, they might not be happy in Clones as that's in Ulster. So in those events, a Leinster venue might have to be used.

It was brought in exactly for cynical fouling.
The Gaelic Football Rule Changes which become operative on 1 January 2014 are as follows:

Introduction of a Black Card for Cynical Behaviour Fouls.

Cynical Behaviour Fouls

1. Deliberately pull down an opponent.
2. Deliberately trip an opponent with the hand(s), arm, leg or foot.
3. Deliberately body collide with an opponent after he has played the ball away or for the purpose of taking him out of a movement of play.
4. Threaten or to use abusive or provocative language or gestures to an opponent or a teammate.
5. Remonstrate in an aggressive manner with a Match Official.

Longford and Mullingar are not very big. Shades of our 2002 trip to Navan?

I thought that should have been a black card myself
