Admittedly this is a very tenuous link to this thread but here goes anyway.
My daughter has discovered somewhere on the internet 4 uncanny links with 1966 that prove England are going to win the World Cup this year- Man City won the league, Real Madrid won Europe, Chelsea finished 5th and Burnley qualified for Europe.
So I reckon all we need to do is find 4 links with 2002 and we're home and hosed. Any ideas anybody?

We beat Sligo, Donegal, Dublin and Tyrone along the way in 02! Though we beat Roscommon in the last four in 1953 and 1977 but lost the decider! Statistics, damned statistics!

But we can’t beat them in the last 4 this time round so that stat is irrelevant!!

Similarities with 2002 and 2018:

- I spent a few weeks in the spare room
- England went out in the QFs.
- We played Sligo.
- We had an Andrew in both teams.
- And an Aidan.
- And a Brendan.
- And a Paddy.

What more do you need? Sam is ours!
But we've no crossmaglen players in the team in 2018 that puts that to bed

Zlat is just ridiculous talk.

Sweden aren't even in the AI Championship
Stockholm Gaels may put in an application next year on the back of your comment! No doubt they will chat with some sort of gaa ombudsman, a word of swedish origin!

Brilliant to see this sort of optimism back among our supporters. Its funny how much things can change in just over a month. Just after the Fermanagh game, Dinny was ridiculed for making a post very similar to Pat's. (Ref- page 19 of USFC thread). Fair play Dinny #trailblazer
