Cross have classy footballers- Harps problem is they always go to play football which gives these lads the space to rip you apart. Other teams will be more dogged .

Poor from the harps. Looked clueless up front- cross movement absolutely class. Have to disagree with post about jake magill. If i was a Harps supporter I’d feel very agrieved. When cross built their lead- he gave them about 10 frees in a row- booked Mckenna for a great hit which meant they had to move him off O’Neill. Second half he was standing right beside Oisin O’Neill screaming in whites face after a cross goal and did nothing. O’Neill should have a word with himself- if you’re at that craic- ye will have a sore face some day. Jake magill was awful.

Aaron kernan- still got it, a class act. Vernon another class act and joe McElroy was superb. Harps should have had 2 first half goals but butchered chances. Not clinical - cross were.

A disappointing game.

Thought Joe McElroy tried his heart out for harps tonight and can be proud of his performance. Kyle carragher still has unreal pace and brilliant ball winner. Aaron Kernan still best number 5 in county. Rian oneill at ff was excellent as was Rico Kelly at fb on ulty lennon. Watched 2 1/2 games of football today and the most entertaining match was shanes vs clonmore in second half. The battle of the 2 number 11's. Connaire mackin and Ryan ohagan from clonmore. Twice I have watched that lad ohagan and an excellent player. Clonmore team of championship so far for me with limited players their management must take serious credit. Shane McCann could be going to bigger teams next year. No disrespect to clonmore

Poor game tonight, Cross were far superior and had at least another gear in them but never needed it. Worryingly looking like cross of old.

The harps weren’t at the races at all and while some of that can be put down to how well cross played quite a lot of their troubles were of their own making.

I’d also agree with Applecore that the referee seemed to favour cross but it had no bearing on the outcome and I actually think he’s a good referee but tonight cross were a bit too cute for him.

A quick question though for all the budding referees out there, in the first game the referee played an advantage to Clonmore just outside the square and within the 5 second advantage the player was subsequently fouled for what looked like a clear penalty. The referee called it back to the original free rather than give the penalty. Now I would have thought he should awarded the penalty but the man beside me thought the referee was right in giving the original foul. Anyone know the actual rule?

Aaron was Imo the MOM tonight, would be concerned he picked up a knock as the Physio handed him a bag of ice as he came off.

In an advantage decision as far as I am aware it has to be brought back for the original decision even if fouled after. If you have the advantage and say for talk sake you double bounce it I think it is a free against you.

It’s an odd one. If I have the advantage but double bounce it, the free goes against me. But if I have advantage and you foul me in the square I don’t get the penalty just the original free. It begs the question ‘who is actually getting the benefit of the advantage?’

No. If you are fouled within that time period that offence should be the new free

The Harps left the championship with a whimper last night.
Second to the ball, lethargic and no real game plan. They pumped in long balls to their full forward who was unable to win the.ball and as the ball broke their were 3-5 defenders gathering the ball.
At FB harps really struggled - gave to much space.
At midfield harps were third best - cross superior even when playing poorly.
The worrying thing for Crossmaglen should be that they played well but conceded 16 scores against a relatively weaker team whose league position didnt lie.
Ref was good for both teams - some wrong decisions but who doesnt.

Thats the Nab and cross into the semi finals. Id expect Cullyhanna to get there today and Maghery Monday night.
Its going to make two superb semi-finals

cross play good direct football they only hit about 2 low percentage shots unlike the harps who dont seem to know what to do with the ball , ref had agood game let it go and was fair .I wish your man with the mic would quit going on about children in the athletic grounds , what harm are they doing good to see them there imo

I'm told there was quite a big discussion at the last CB meeting about children in the Athletic Grounds -the damage being done, parents using it as a creche and so on.
I had to "use the facilities" during the game last night and there must have been 20 or so kids running around in a group, nearly dropped the soup on the way back in.

There were no issues with kids where I was sitting but I can kinda get where they were coming from. I have seen kids climbing over the chairs etc like they were a climbing frame. Your man on the mic loves the sound of his own voice all the same!!

Funny I thought that too at first but as I was driving home I was thinking that in the last 20 minutes they were simply playing the game through. Never really extending themselves and just matching score for score. Game management. I’d say against one of the stronger teams they’ll tighten up. Also Harps are a good side. The League means nothing. Championship is where it counts and they are a championship side.

Agree about both teams going out to play football. It was a good open game.

Also a word for the ref, young Magill fella, that was as good a refereeing performance as I have seen in Armagh for a long time. Obviously helped by both teams players by fairly honest football. Got any key decisions right
Agreed. I thought he was very good. A group of harps fans around me disagrees tho.

On the game itself, I was impressed by cross. Didn’t start Morgan or T Kernan and still won with a lot to spare. Cullyhanna alters the best team I seen at Clann Eireann this year but that performance last night probably eclipses then

I have said from the very outset it’s Cullyhanna’s year. They will beat Silverbridge with a bit to spare and will comfortably make the final. We are still 2-3 years away from where we can be. 6 of the starting team are u21 as were 2 of the subs, one of them being a minor. We are not battle hardened enough to win the county but we are building good blocks.

I will take your word for it. I can only go on what I have seen so far. There seemed to be a good mix on your team last night tho. Kernan could still play County. Always looks like he has time and space

Last night was the best I’ve seen Aaron all year. He always looks to have more time than anyone else and looked a good bit sharper. Tonight Cullyhanna showed their steel. They’re looking stronger and stronger
