Not the worst game, mostly controlled by Maghery after the first water break. Brief rally from Pearse Ogs in the second half but Maghery always in control. Fairly well organised in defense but limited enough up front. It should be a tight final between them and Cross (yes I am writing Killeavy off) Interesting tactic on the ogs kick outs, all the Maghery lads were shouting and arm waving, even their subs. Seemed to work as it flustered the ogs keeper who did not want to go long to the middle.
Thought Maghery looked well organized and stepped it up a bit from their previous match. Still some improvement to go. Even when Maghery look to be in control, they never seem to really put a team away with their opponents always with striking distance. Pearse Og had bit of a run in the third quarter but not sure if that was more due to Maghery drifting from their game plan. Thought Ogs looked fairly limited up front, not much of a threat for getting scores-but having said they, they had enough opportunities to really close the gap but let down by some poor decision making and erratic shooting.
James Lavery still a very effective midfielder

Killeavy are awful, watching on Armagh TV. I know Cross are a daunting task in championship football but executing the basics seems to be an alien concept. They’ve a numerical advantage but look like they’re the ones down to 14. Hopefully they stick to football in the second half and leave the handbags because Cross will drag them down and beat them on experience

Cross drifted into complacency there and the loss of the two Kernan's didn't help. But a bit of a scare is just what is needed in order to tighten up against Maghery.

Ach now it was 2 clear yellows. First was dangerous and the second was silly considering he knew he had been booked. Also saw him get a warming before both bookings. Can have no complaints. Saying all that, very enjoyable game with plenty of physicality. Well done to both teams

second one the ref was not doing anything till he was harangued by the Killeavey players. He got a second booking through player pressure. Bad form altogether

I am a complete neutral in this game but for me Tony Kernan was harshly sent off. Considering some other challenges that went unpunished I feel he can feel particularly aggrieved. Aaron seemed to get caught when taking a shot in the first half. If Killeavy had have played O' Hanlon closer to goal earlier they may have got there. Great save from keeper near end too. The Cross number 34 looks a prospect.

Firstly, congratulations to Cross.

I thought they were clear enough yellows, and Tony ought to know better. That said, the ref wasn’t necessarily consistent throughout (both ways) and if it was a killeavy player we wouldn’t be delighted.

In Killeavy we thought we’d make it tight and it’s painful to see just how close we came.

We have the youngest panel in Division 1, with almost every man having played county at some level. I certainly think if we learn a few lessons that we will be back next year and for many more to challenge. Proud of the lads.

Thought that your boys very well once they got the momentum in the second half. Some good young players and we couldn’t get our game going.

As for TK, the issue I have is that Magill was walking away and doing nothing. Even the commentators said that it was harsh and they were in no way favouring us in their coverage of it. They both openly said that it was the influence of the players that made the ref book him the second time. A player of his experience should know but still it’s frustrating when something like that happens.

Killeavey set a fast pace in the second half and we struggled. It was a very good opportunity for them and they have a good nucleus to build on there.
