So, correct me if I am wrong, at the minute Cavan as 15th seeds based on the league are out as there will be at least 2 teams from outside the top 2 divisions in provincial finals (Munster and Connaught) plus posibly a 3rd team if Westmeath as Tailteann cup winners don't make the final.

That being the case Cavan have it all to play for in Ulster. More spice to the game then if it were needed.
No such thing as 15th seeds, Cavan need to reach an Ulster final or else can't compete for Sam, so Cavan will either be 1st seeds with a Ulster win or 2nd seeds with a runner up, no way they can be 3rd or 4th seeds

Watched the game on iplayer last night.
Cameras captured clear discord on the bench-see approx 38mins 28secs of recording.
Joe McElroy asks Jarly Og to share his bag of sweets. Might have been Starburst, called Opel Fruits in the auld days. Joe might have taken an orange one. Jarly Og didn't look happy.
We'll see how this pans out
Not only is McElroy trying to take Burns position on the team he's trying to take all his sweets

Yes thanks that was the point I was trying to get at. The 15th seeding I was referring to was based on league position. On that basis given the current circumstances you would need to be 13th in the league at least if you don't make a provincial final to get through to the round robins for the AI.

What happens to cork now their out of the Munster championship?
They have to wait and see what happens, they should be ok but if Cavan make ulster and a div 3 team make a Leinster final they are out. I don't like the system at all. Hopefully they tweak next year

Nothing for cork at the moment as they’re 12th ranked in league so are fairly safe, but it means Meath can only be in Sam if they get to the Leinster final. The Clare vs Limerick Munster semi final is a shootout, winner goes to Sam, loser goes to Tailteann.

This system is mostly fine if the other provinces would apply some sort of seeding to split their div1/2 teams to opposite sides of the draw. That should at least make a Tailteann team have to beat a Sam team to qualify for Sam.

It's crazy because as I said earlier Armagh are better to lose against Cavan than to lose an Ulster final and be a 2nd seed, 2nd seeds are going to have, probably Sligo and Clare and either Meath/Louth/Offaly or Westmeath where as the teams who will be 3rd seeds are mayo one of Galway/rossies and one of Tyrone/Monaghan possibly both if Derry beats the winner

Not that I'm getting ahead of myself but looking at the Ulster Championship fixtures the Fermanagh/Derry v Tyrone/Monaghan is on Saturday the 29th of April which means these teams have a fortnight between the Quarter final matches & semi final match. On the other side of the draw the semi final is down for Sunday the 30th of April which means Cavan/Armagh & Down/Donegal only get a week between their Quarter finals & semi final, if these dates are correct this hardly seems fair?!?!!

Seems completely fair to me and the way to run a 9 team knock out competition in a tight window.

There’ll be 4 teams in each group, with 3 progressing to the knockouts, huge waste of time in my opinion, but if you can’t get out of that you’ve nothing to give off about.
