Ulster Championship 2023

There needs to be a rule change that if you go down with a head injury, real or not, and the earliest you can get back on is the next break in play. Roscommon have this down to a fine art and I'd say their medics know the signs of when a player is about to do this as it seems they're on the field as the player hits the ground.

Mayo looked tired - now they've four weeks or so to regroup, train and prepare for the AI series. Definite advantage along with Kerry and Dublin who have easier routes
If only someone on here would have mentioned that it would be a good idea for a "head injury player" to leave the field for a [to be specified] amount of time for assessment :p

Long shot though it may be even Donegal aren't fully safe.

I wonderd before if the new set up would allow teams who are safe to not take provincial competitions seriously possibly removing stronger counties from the AI series. The league becomes all the more important.

I think inadvertently the way the draw has worked out this year in the provincials, we will end up with a number of serious trouncings in the all Ireland series. Sligo or New York would be on the end of a fairly hefty trimming from a Division 1 side you would think. If limerick reach a provincial final and the all Ireland group stages you would imagine they would be on the end of a trimming as well.

Whilst it's welcome that the all Ireland will be in a champions League format, the manner in which the teams are decided are still wrong. Either make it provincial winners only are seeded and then the next best teams from leagues. Or drop the provincials element completely and have top 15 league placings for the same year plus previous years Tailleant Cup winners.

I also don't believe that division 2 winners and runners up should jump ahead of bottom 2 in Division 1. League placings for same year should be the method.

Do we risk ONeill + Murnin v Cavan? I'd say no, as bigger fish to fry later in year.

And also not end of the world if we get beat? Worse case scenario is getting beat in final!

Has anyone with a Season ticket received the e-mail letting them know tickets are available? I've gone in to "Redeem Tix" & have no choice of seats & getting stuck in the corner of Uncovered seating? Anyone having better luck re choice of tickets?

Completely disagree.

The fortunes of many counties ebb and flow. In our recent Division 3 days your system would be win Ulster or it’s Tailteann cup. I don’t think that works. And if you want it on a purest top 16 teams why reward the provincial championship or the previous years taileann cup? It’s a hybrid system for the best of reasons.

When the spots are allocated on league position I think it’s correct to look at league end positions and reward promoted sides.

For the long term good of the game i think they have hit on the correct blend. It’s not flawless just less flawed than the alternatives.

I wonder why that is, that's poor on their part.

I think it's ridiculous that you can't choose where you'd like to sit. At the minute I could be paying 25 euro to be stuck in the corner possibly in the lashing rain, hardly rewarding Season ticket holders is it
