Correlation, causation or even 'effect' :p Who knows. All I know is I can't think of too many counties who have had senior success without some success at underage. There may be exceptions to that but none spring to mind at the minute.
In recent times that have been loads of counties with strong/winning u21/u20 teams that have not made the breakthrough at senior. But the big counties come back time and time again for the reasons mentioned. So they invariably throw up some successful underage sides. Dublin and Kerry definitely use the underage structures to focus on player development. Dublin have had u20 success but that isn’t surprising is it.

I think we went down the route of judging the success of underage structures on silverware that we would do near irreparable damage to our senior outlook.

Utter madness. It wasn’t even a great finish keeper should be doing better. Fair fucks to the lad!
Oisin McConville asked the question if maybe O'Toole didn't know the score when he took that shot-maybe he thought it was a 2 point game instead of just one.
Interesting point but hard to imagine that would have been the case. He went for it and fair play to the lad.

Maybe he did, pure madness to go for it and you’d have killed him if he’d missed. Bad work by Morgan too. Absolutely fair play though!

Good to see Tyrone beaten - a great fightback by Monaghan.
Meyler is as unlikeable as McKernan - and a few others are up their too. The ref didn't do Monaghan any favours either, but they came through in the end (crazy decision to shoot for a goal!!).
It shows what a bit of fight and spirit in a team can do - roll on Breffni Park.

I genuinely don’t think the defender of Morgan thought he’d go for goal. Expected him to fist the point and when he shot they were baldy caught.

Some win, quiet on one side of the couch in our house tonight!!!
Be careful what you say, or you’ll be making your own supper tonight :D

That number 7 would have looked a right O’Toole, had he missed that!

Going for a goal there, was either brave or stupid. This time it turned out to be brave. Those are the breaks.

Anyway, Tyrone are out, and that’s all that matters.
When your lucks in it’s in if it was one of our boys done that , if would be saved by Morgan , hit off the defenders head , then hit the post , go back to a Tyrone player , they would break up the field and score a point making the game over , inferiority complex me ? Who ?

You’re forgetting about...

Tyrone player dives to win a free.

Tyrone player steals 20 yards infield from where “foul” happened.

Ball goes wide, but given as a point.

Tyrone player runs into Armagh player as he wipes sweat off his brow. Tyrone player falls over. Armagh man gets a red card.

Francie gets yellow card while sitting in the stand.

Referee blows up early as Tyrone are leading.

Francie gets second yellow as he’s sat eating Rice Krispies for supper, back home in Cross.

Would like to think the lad decided to give the middle finger salute to the play it safe coaching mentality that is drilled into players now a days. Or he just took the head staggers

I thought that one was charging. The O'Hanlon over carrying one was criminal. It amazes me how Tyrone players look like they are being tasered every time the opposition lays a hand on them.

Even after all these years?!?!!! Surely you know the old saying "There are 3 certainties in life, death, taxes & Them Uns players going down like they've been tasered every time they're touched"
