I’ve always been an active member of a club. Moving to Divingmidgetland afforded me to opportunity of being a member of two clubs back in the day. However with centralised membership it’s now not possible. So Armagh people who are GAA members in other counties always have to scramble around for tickets.
You can always do the switcharoo with the surname at the second club, change a Grugan to a Gurgan ;)

Just a quick note to those thinking Croke Park is a better alternative to Clones for the final and mention things like traffic etc.

Yes it's a much better stadium - that's a no brainer as it's a multimillion £/€ facility and yes it has a train station close by, but better roads system??? Really?? Have you actually been to a Leinster final or All Ireland final come to that, in the last 10 years?? Yes I have and I can say that the two hours to get out of the city is just as frustrating as leaving Clones (that's assuming you got parked in the first place and haven't had the vehicle lifted by the anti yellow plate parking brigade). The last couple of years it's absolute chaos trying to get away and head North. EVERY vehicle is turned towards the city and even if you know your way around, it's an absolute nightmare to get to the tunnel or the airport direction. I always try and head to Blanchardstown and then North from there, but it seems 1 million others are doing the same, so just be careful what you wish for.

Sitting having tae and a ham sarnie after the game while the Clones traffic clears is part of the day out, even if it's raining (bloody game should be in July anyway, but that's another discussion completely). Ignore the negatives (alright I concede the toilets do hum considerably, but the good ole jungle trick of vicks under the nose helps with that). We're actually back where we wanted to be for too many years. Lets enjoy, warts an all and the celebrate as if we never won a thing before. Good times a coming!!

I see a lot of this debate going on twitter at the minute and people crying about missing out, i think its blown out of proportion, i mean lets be honest anybody that wants to go will get a ticket, I've never heard of any Armagh fan been stuck yet where they couldn't get a ticket for a game in Clones, the only game recently where i can remember maybe some fans missing out was for the league game in blayney earlier this year

Don't understand people who follow county but are not part of a club, really is beyond belief, maybe someone can educate us
Well that would be me lol I am not a member of a club because my local club is a bit away from me and was happily paying membership while I played but don't really near the club now, and tbh when Armagh where going greta in 00s tickets always went to the higher ups, so I follow the county for most matches and will watch out for my club results but am not a member but il Always donate for any fundraiser. I don't have kids maybe if I did I would join again

Tickets out online now for season ticket holders for anyone waiting. Still not got the email to say I can go and order them but that seems to be the norm as the last few rounds was the same.

Seem to be all for Pat McGrane stand

Great seats in centre of Pat McGrane stand.
The season tickets have many perks - my only issue is that with reserved seating, you can't buy the ticket next to you for family members. There use to be a "bring a friend" option but that seems to have been done away with either because the seats are unreserved in the earlier games or there's too high demand later in the season.
Looks like everyone in the family will have to get a season ticket next year!!

Gerry Arthur stand halfway line for our season tickets. Will do us. Glad reserved as have a juvenile with us

A few things.

A loyalty scheme would be easy to implement for members of the GAA as each member has a unique membership number.

Most clubs charge a nominal fee for membership. How can anyone claim to be such a huge GAA fan and not even be a member of the association bewilders me.

If anyone really thinks paying in to county matches is financially supporting the grass roots of the association you are deluded.

Clubs could do without the hassle of tickets to be honest. Hundreds of requests for limited tickets won’t be easy solved. But anyone who really wants a ticket will be up with one in my opinion.

All this fuss reminds me of the glory days when people were giving out about not getting a ticket and I asked a lady who was particularly vexed and wouldn’t be back “sorry who are you?” As I’d never seen her before. To contradict my earlier point about nominal membership fees. GAA members are tasked with furthering the aims of the association. Paying membership is only part of being properly involved in the GAA.

The All Ireland or Leinster final are probably not direct comparables. The crowd wouldn’t match those numbers.

I don’t mind the run to Dublin. No difficulty in getting parked or getting away. The only problem I have is you time in wrong on the way down the M1 toll can be backed up.

But Ulster needs a stadium. I have a horrible feeling that we will keep hanging out for the unachieveable at Casement Park and waste years and years.

This doesn’t address the diaspora issue. In Dublin, Belfast and in other areas you have a sizeable travelling support for Armagh. Many are involved in their “local” club. There needs to access to tickets for these people.

We have been waiting years and years.

I’m loath to bring Ulster finals to Croke Park. Having said that, is Clones really the future for Ulster finals? We have to be looking at grounds with decent roads and good public transport links.

I wouldn't be able to go. I would travel over on the Saturday afternoon to Belfast, travel to Armagh (Belfast to Armagh wouldn't be too bad) enjoy the atmosphere for the night. Travel to Clones and travel straight back to Belfast for a flight back Sunday night - wouldn't be able to enjoy myself IF we did win . I actually like the travelling part, a few years ago a lot of Armagh fans were travelling from Birmingham - last year I travelled from Manchester and never doing that route again.

If it was Dublin, fly out Saturday afternoon, off to Croke Park, stay up all night and travel back at 6am :D
