Same as that. We actually played well today - maybe that was us at our max. Super effort all-the-same.
Jarly Og taking the easy option and fisting a point instead of bursting the net was not a good choice.
Clones was a shambles today. Not the stadium.

As a spectacle, the match wasn’t great, which definitely affected the crowd and the atmosphere.
I hope it’s a long time until we play Derry again, because, my God, they are a brutal team to watch.

Their not a great team & not all ireland contenders it's still kerry or Dublin for me

Letting in that goal let Derry control the hole game. Had an awful factor in the way the game faired out. We didn’t make the most of Rodgers black card either in extra time .

Something has to be done about feigning injury.
Can't remember who it was but he was half dead and when the ball moved he was up and moving I even think the medics were doing some sort of head injury check.
If you go down holding your head no problem
Go off and you come back on in the next break in play

Slightly off topic, but did Derrynoose announce the winners of the Ulster final tickets from their "Dream team competition" ?
Definitely - you can't pass up goal chances in the heat of championship football. The Dubs were still going for goals and them a gazillion points up.

What a dreadful way to lose a title. That was so hard to take I’m just gutted.
Tactically I felt we did ok, it was slow and methodical but I don’t think there was much choice on that. We could have been much braver and Soupy really carried it to them and frightened them.
We had so many ways to win that;
1 A lot of wides that were so scorable - Turbitt and Duffy
2 Howler of a goal
3 Grugan dropping that short
4 Ciaran Mackin having to go off
5 Jarly Óg not going for the throat
6 No effort at early long ball
7 retake of the kick out
8 Poor kick out strategy with the game won
9 McFaul being available to play
There are probably more but that was there for the taking. Thought we gave it an almighty effort so I’m not going to blame anyone. I was worried they could be out of sight after 20 mins but felt if we stayed with them then we‘d have a great chance… and we did. That Derry team have been roundly lauded this year and we matched them well.
Westmeath aren’t beaten yet and its some chance for them to have a cut. We will gain a lot from the AI series and might well see Derry down the line. I wouldn’t fear them. Would love it so much if we could just get over the line in these tight games
