Brilliant performance. Couldn't have asked for more. Soupy had the game of his life. His direct running with loads of pace was a joy to watch. He had a point to prove, and he delivered in big style. He looked flying fit. But every player performed. Like a lot of supporters I wasn't too confident of a win but I was hoping that we'd get a performance, get stuck in and have a go. Certainly did all of that. I'm pleased for the management. A lot of heat on from the Donegal game and they were under pressure to get a response from the players.

This performance is the new benchmark for the team and I really hope they take belief from it going forward.

Can we not put pressure on the lads and have high expectations. They play better when they haven't got the pressure to perform that we are all guilty of putting on them. We have made this mistake constantly over the years.

Where to start.

What a performance. Hats off to the lads and management- that definitely will silence a few critics. Couldnt fault anyone there yesterday- Soupy was excellent obviously as was Morgan. Murnins score off his left foot was sensational.

Fair play to Ethan Rafferty kicked 2 great scores, saved a point and his kickouts were top class

Just want to squeeze this post in before the draw.

I thought Tyrone looked very lack lustre yesterday which I'm sure will have been picked up by the management. So although beating the all Ireland champions can't be diminished totally it should be put in the context that they were not at the pace of last year. It was still a barrier that had to be crossed but maybe not as big as we previously thought.
It's also funny how things impact on the final result of a game. I'm wondering if we had went in 4,5 or 6 up at half time would it actually had a detrimental effect long term? Maybe a good kick in the arse was required at half time to tighten the passing up and refocus on the task in hand. Also with Conarie's injury I wondered at the time who it would favour, if anyone. We probably got a bit of a bounce out of it which helped us kick on.
It shows how much is out of the control of players and management in any game. Events on the day can have huge impacts. Control the controllable comes to mind.
Anyway, lets enjoy this week, bask in the glory of the back pages and dream of even bigger days. C'mon Armagh.

I hope Conarie is OK, he took a serious knock and scared the life out of a lot of people on that side of the ground. God love his family, that must be unbearable to watch. He was clearly knocked out but fair play to Rory Brennan who acted very quickly and got him into the recovery position. They are not all bad guys.....

A lot of pessimism on the forum recently and I must admit I feel the same way. Hopefully this doesn't creep into the team bubble. I really can't see us wining on Sunday, it's a shit feeling especially after the great start to the year. Hopefully I am wrong.
Some things I will be watching our for;

- Kick outs - If, after six weeks and most of the league, we have not sorted this out then serious questions will have to be asked of the management.
- Rian - Where he plays and how he plays. Rian's performance against Donegal and indeed in many games tends to be a barometer of where the team is at. I know a lot of people are saying he should be close to the goals but personally I think a MF or CHF position would give him more freedom to express himself. He has serious aerial ability and can score from long range so would be a major asset around the middle.
- Turbitt/McQuillan - These boys have to start and run the shite out of the cheaters. These two boys could have a serious impact but again they need to be utilised properly
- Defence - Have the lessons been learned?
- Kick passing - We need to go back to what was successful in the league. Against Donegal we reverted to type and played safe although this was also due to how Donegal set up against us. In the league we were having major success by long kick passes out of defence. Niall Rowland was excellent at this in particular but there were many others also.

I actually feel a bit better now, hopefully I'll feel even better on Sunday afternoon and be tuned in to Radio One at 8.35 on Monday to see who we got in the next round........
I have to say the management passed my test with a solid 89%, I'm sure they will be delighted to hear that this morning, they were probably worrying all night about it ;):p
Kick outs were very good, Rian basically played everywhere, Turbitt and McQuillan came on, the defence was sound and we got back to the attractive kick passing game for which we are renowned. Well done all. I will set the next test later today! ;)
