Where do you start?

Relief and praise would probably be the best answers to that.

Didn’t think Soupy would actually start. When he did I didn’t think he would finish. Wrong and wrong again. His performance was immense. Incredible that an All Ireland winning managerial combo couldn’t use Mattie Donnelly or Sludden to go man to man on him. Their mistake. Our gain.

Thought we made massive inroads on our restart strategies. It wasn’t perfect and their are no laurels to rest on but a huge improvement.

I still think we carry the ball in hand too much and get funnelled down the side line. What we have improved on is what to do when we run into a dead end. I know the crowd don’t like to see the ball kicked backwards but the crime here isn’t getting out of a cul de sac it’s running into the cul de sac in the first place.

Still big concerns on tackling. We concede too many frees, too many scoreable frees and too many that get or border on getting cards.

Back to the positives.

The physical effort, the hunger and determination were all top quality. No comparison with Ballybofey.

Some of the scores were either great finishes or great moves. 2 of the last 3 scores were forwards pulling long accurate punts from O’Neill out of the sky and putting it over the bar on the turn. I could watch that stuff all day. Money to be made from for whoever can show that stuff on a loop. Whether it’s RTE Gold or Porn Hub I don’t much mind.

Still more to improve on but if we can keep effort and concentration at today’s level then we have a chance.

There is no such thing as perfect performance. Luckily there is such a thing as a perfect result.

On the injuries - is TK and C Mackin definitely out for the remainder of the season?? With P Burns and C Mackin injured today the squad will be thin next week. Ice baths for all this week!

Proud Armagh man tonight ! Completely dominated the game from start to finish.

What a game Soupy played. Tyrone couldn’t keep up with his direct running. Also Andy Murnin’s fetch and score near the end was a thing of pure beauty.

As Whelan said on the Sunday Game, no one will want us next, although would love another crack at Donegal in Croker.

Glad to hear Mackin has left hospital, hopefully see him back on the field soon!

Great day all round. Armagh win and Wales win.

Some stand out performances already mentioned and not much else you can add apart from speedy recoveries to those injured in the game.

Don’t think there was any malice in the Mackin hit just never nice to see

Congratulations to the whole Armagh team after a very impressive performance. Despite some of our great play throughout the game, it was hard to enjoy it, as there was so much riding on the game, against that lot. We fully deserved our 6 point win and the only disappointing aspect was that it should have been more!

We were dominant all over the field and I can't remember Tyrone ever having a point in the game where they were on top, apart from the first couple of minutes. We won all the battles, wanted it more and played with real intensity and desire, which they just couldn't match. Stefan Campbell was absolutely outstanding. We've seen over the years how he can drift in and out of matches, but today he was on it for the entire game. I thought our second best player was James Morgan. That really was one of his best performances for Armagh. He totally snuffed McKenna out of the game and his attacking play set up some key scores. Nugent was causing damage before McKiernan picked him up and Crealy got through a mountain of dirty work, which was vital in keeping the team ticking over.

The injuries to Paddy Burns (looks like another hamstring) and Connaire Mackin the two downsides to the game and will really stretch our playing resources. I'm delighted to be in the hat for tomorrow's game. A draw against Limerick or Kildare would probably be most preferable.

The most pleasing aspect of that performance is the work rate. That level of work would see us get through quite a few games.

Pressure is still on McGeeney, but the next round have games we are capable of winning.
