Donegal was the game I didn't want but it is the game we need. The win against Tyrone the current All Ireland champions has put to bed the argument that McGeeney has never beaten a big team in the championship. That is one monkey off our backs so to speak. Donegal has caused us problems not only this season but for the last decade, they know how to knock the wind out of our sails and this is an opportunity for us to learn and put a wrong right. If we can get past Donegal the belief the players have will grow exponentially when it comes to playing a provincial winner, dare I say, but might even have more of a benefit than going in as a provincial winner.

It was interesting to hear what Donaghy said after the game yesterday, while it was not verbatim I interpreted it as management telling the players to go out and give it their all and play. Management might have finally come to the realisation that the players can be trusted to make decisions.

When Rodgers man marked Murphy he also knew he’d be let do what he wanted when Derry were attacking. When Murphy realised he had to follow him Rodgers ran the legs off him. If Aiden has that job I’d also want to see him bombing on and give Murphy something to think about. He was out on his feet at the end of the Ulster final.

If you look at our forward line compared to Derry's we should be beating Donegal out the gate.

Did Forker pull up towards the end of the game? Looked like he was holding his hamstring - couldn't be sure though.
Forker not right I don’t think. Was a doubt before the game I heard. He played a restrained role yesterday which confirms he may not have been 100% fit

A day after out best win in years, and it still feels good.
First of all - full credit to management (I have not been their biggest fan) and players - that was a great performance and contributed to a super atmosphere in AG. There was no-one who did not play well, and some had stormers.
I think it is fair to say that Tyrone were only a shadow of last year's team but still, a great win.
For me, playing Donegal is not the draw I wanted - would much rather play someone who we are not so familiar with (and vice versa).
I normally do not give much credence to claims that the draws are fixed but I am a bit more sceptical this time - as in last weekends games, all 4 division one teams meet this weekend too. Suits RTE and SKY to have the big boys meet as they can show the big games live. I just wonder......

However - we have Donegal and a chance to prove ourselves again . Pity about all our injuries - but if we go and play with the same drive, fight, passion and attacking mindset as yesterday then we can make the quarter finals.

Could Morgan get that role? Strong enough for the job and loves a hit so would match up to Murphy well.

For me it is important to stop McHugh and mogan as much as Murphy there runs from deep definitely hurt us.i would have Conor O'Neill and maybe hall on them track them and maybe ask th.a question going the other way

Firstly, well done to management, players and supporters on Sunday. A wonderful performance, victory and atmosphere. The management have had plenty of stick (much of it warranted) but their tactics and match ups were spot on on Sunday. Each and every one of the players deserve great credit.

The only downside were the injuries to burns and mackin. Mackin was magnificent for the time he was on the pitch and should take confidence from it. Best of luck to both

We should not be lacking motivation for donegal and we should have learnt plenty in ballybofey. We are more than capable of beating them.

Roll on Sunday

Mogan seems to destroy us done it last day and in Breiffni few years back i fear donegal we play similar to them... And just think slightly better at it hopefully though we can replicate that 10 or 15 mins period after half time for longer. Pity about all our injuries rian was in a boot too after game. Oisin would be a big help but doesn't look like he will play as the lads have stated he has an achillies injury. Be ambitious to hope connaire mackin or burns be playing. He said it on rte would there be any hope of playing blaine and bringing ethan out to middle altho ethan stopped 1 or 2 points which blaine couldn't have really hard to know what to do
