It wouldn't be right if Gaelic Life suffered because of Brolly. OK I know he writes in this paper, but for me it is still an excellent GAA focused paper and one we should continue to support. Not that it will make a big difference but during the start of the pandemic I took our a subscription on the Gaelic life just to try and help local GAA journalists a bit , I know it wasn’t going to pay their wages but every bit helps , because this tube is not writing for them I won’t be renewing my quarterly subscription, I don’t know how much Niall McCoy is on this forum anymore and I know he is doing a bit of work for RTÉ now but I would be interested on his take on this agenda by Brolly .
I did the same. Stopped buying Irish Independent after Eamonn Sweeney article years ago. Not long after renewing my Gaelic Life subscription. Maybe they should boot him off it then. I will subscribe again if they do that.It wouldn't be right if Gaelic Life suffered because of Brolly. OK I know he writes in this paper, but for me it is still an excellent GAA focused paper and one we should continue to support.
Sound but they use him as a major selling point, and he is marketed as the crown jewel in the paper , that’s my opinion and I can only talk with my feet , maybe they will cop on like RTÉ did , until then I will be putting my few bob elsewhere .It wouldn't be right if Gaelic Life suffered because of Brolly. That's about the 10th time i have seen that and still chuckle at.Forward to 1:40
Its purely attention seeking. To be centre of discussion. There is never a point in any debate or its aftermath where Joe is going to think 'I might have been out of line there'-if it got a reaction, he is happy. That's about the 10th time i have seen that and still chuckle at.
To be fair I think even Brolly manages to have a good laugh at himself.
Remember listening to the GAA social he was on. And he admitted that a lot of times he gets board and throws a 'grenade' to cause debate.
He’s far from the crown jewel. Some might buy GL because he has a column, but I certainly don’t. There are great contributors in it. Kevin Cassidy’s column is always fair and well balanced.Sound but they use him as a major selling point, and he is marketed as the crown jewel in the paper , that’s my opinion and I can only talk with my feet , maybe they will cop on like RTÉ did , until then I will be putting my few bob elsewhere .
I agree. It purely to gain attention and grab the headlines. Personally I find it entertaining (not saying it is right or ethical or educational or insightful) but that's just my opinion. Its purely attention seeking. To be centre of discussion. If you want to deflate Brolly and take the wind from his sails-then just ignore, no reaction or comment. Nothing will hurt him as much as the idea he is ignored and irrelevant
Stuck in house with COVID also. My Dad in hospital with it at moment also, although he is stable and ok today. Managing to get work done but rest of day-jeez, struggling. Finished Better Call Saul last night so really need something. I'll check this outI agree. It purely to gain attention and grab the headlines. Currently stuck in house with Covid and needing a bit of Benny to cheer me up. A true character within the GAA
I was the same. Never bought the Indo after that. That was a particularly spiteful piece. I'm not reading anything Brolly has to say about Armagh now. He blows with the wind. Will be somebody else's turn soon.I did the same. Stopped buying Irish Independent after Eamonn Sweeney article years ago. Not long after renewing my Gaelic Life subscription. 52 seconds. For all them people who praise the Cluxton, Beggan and Morgan revolutionise the sweeper keeper. Clear evidence Benny was first
(God i am bored. Wish we were building up to an All Ireland Semi this weekend)
Seen in as part of the build up to the Galway match. Was very entertaining.I was at this match If you haven't heard Benny's interview on the GAA Social podcast it is well worth a listen, I had some proper lol moments.
Yeah I was there too. Benny did have some game that night to be fair.I was at this match If you haven't heard Benny's interview on the GAA Social podcast it is well worth a listen, I had some proper lol moments.
Mayo usually get their fill of it from him also. Easy target for Joe-team involved in a few heart breaking 'let downs' with a large passionate support. Sure to get a response. No hard feelings towards Galway but I’ll be wearing my Ulster hat and cheering on the boys from the walls and hoping they win the lotso-who would we like to see winning this weekend? Galway or Derry?
