Also, did anyone else despise how obvious the Dubs tried to waste time/upset the momentum of Kerry before the penalty in the first half? I’m all for buying a few mins, but the way Comerford fell to the ground was a hard watch. No doubt if one of the nordie counties were at that carry on, it’d be plastered all over the papers.

It was partly to eat into the 10 minutes of Small’s Black card. And with his “head injury” and him being the goalkeeper, play can’t proceed.

The sooner a stopwatch is introduced the better. The ladies game has it for years. There’s no reason why it shouldn’t be brought in.

Folks, the bias is unreal. At one stage today, the commentator talked about passions boiling over... that would be thuggery if we were involved. It's important that we stick together within the wee 6. We are hated as much as our brethren at this stage, and funnily enough, a lot of southerners would have more in coming with them than us.

There’s plenty of love for us south of the border, no need to start feeling victimised, no one hates us, if anything we seem to have plenty of grudges with other counties on this forum.

O’Shea and Clifford possibly the best duo of all time, two of them carried Kerry on their backs today.

Definitely in the conversation, as the saying goes “name a better duo, I’ll wait”.
Sean Purcell, Frank Stockwell….the Terrible Twins.
Paddy Doherty, Sean O Neill

That’s 2 duos who play in all eras. I may not have seen them play live but seen enough historic footage to know they were a different level and played at a time where ‘men were men’!

The game of football has been played for many many years, I think sometimes we forget that. Clifford and O’Shea are excellent but they are nothing without Paudie Clifford. He makes that forward line really tick in my opinion. He creates the space, plays the balls, is the link, he’s the ‘glue man’. When he plays well, Kerry plays well. The other 2 are the finishers but he is the creator.

Think there is potential there but would need to back it up first

And they were both very quiet in the 2nd half I thought. Clifford had few bad wides

I think Kerry are one of the most cynical teams out there , every time that Dublin tried to break they fouled with a smother or pull down which is fine but this notion of purist football is being looked at with rose tinted glasses , and its not new either . Some of the Dublin behavior as well shaking the posts at the end , Comerford getting hit by the invisible man before the penalty . The media interpretation of matches and the spin afterwards can fairly manipulate the perceptions . There was plenty of mistakes in this match as well which helped to add to the excitement , it was a good quality game , with a good ending, i wouldn't be paying homage to either team . Dublin without COC looked quite blunt going forward , Kerry if they lost O'Shea and the Clifford's would struggle as well and these lads have had plenty of injuries in their early careers. I think that Kerry should win the All Ireland but I don't think they will dominate like Dublin did or the 70/80s Kerry team, there's plenty behind in the pack that will give them trouble.

Agree - think Dublins dominance over last 7 years was largely due to the chasing pack being so far behind. I think if this is to be Kerry’s break through year, like you said, they won’t have the same level of dominance as the Dubs golden era had. Teams like ourselves, Galway, Dubs and even themins (after they’ve dusted themselves down this year) are a lot closer to Kerry to what teams were to Dublin during 15’-20’.

i agree, I think the Dublin team from about 5 years ago would have beat that Kerry team comfortably too
