I want Monaghan to press us, I don't trust Rafferty's short game, go long and launch attacks in the croke park space all day long. I also would love to see Armagh press Monaghan. It tends to work in our favour when we make every ball a 50/50 and the Armagh support will drive the boys on if they do this. If Armagh sit back and let Monaghan recycle ball, the deserve to get beat. It is an All Ireland Quarter Final, take it with both hands Armagh and make us believe.

Need to play Rian further out and let dictate the game and shine. Our full forward line can cause the damage if balls goes into them, Lurgan always produce classy forward and those 3 above in 13,14,15 would frighten any full back line in ireland

Morgan won't be fit p burns will play

Rian O'Neill only had a 1 match ban didn't he? Is everyone thinking he will be dropped given lasts week's performance without him?
No I agree with @Peter grimes . It would be difficult to "drop" one of the acknowledged best players in Ireland, although I fully understand why you ask the question. Let the game get underway with him on the bench. Not for spite or punishment or anything like that. Just to bring a different game to Monaghan. They'll be preparing for him starting, as any good team should and will have a contingency for a replacement, but if the guys get going and build momentum, bringing Rian on would massively lift everyone again. The noise would do the heart good. If it was tight, then he could have exactly the same affect. It could potentially be a win win situation.

In my head I'm also starting him because he's a known quantity and a massive player that would fit on any team. His talent is scary and he should do the talking on the field. He WILL!!!!!!

This might not be a popular opinion but id go as a forward 6.

Grugan
rian
cumiskey
duffy
turbo
murnin.

Duffy will have to pick up mc carthy or o connell and to me cumiskey the other.

I think soupy would be the game changer off the bench that we need. we only got 1.2 off the bench in our group games. Im scared of monaghans pace this might halt it towards the later end of the game

Madness.
We missed 2 45s (ethan) from pretty central against Galway. Rian slots those over all day. Hes our best player, him not starting only gives Monaghan a lift.
Holding him back a half or whatever you are proposing loses out on all the positive things he can do for the team and scoreboard during that time. And the margins are too small at the business end of the championship to be at that.

Say it every time, but that Ticketmaster site is a disaster. Left it till today and decent tickets started popping up. Don't know why they don't just realease everything in one go and first come first served for decent seats (after season tickets obv)
The GAA should first release seats, after the season tickets, to people who bought earlier Armagh games. Then the free for all after a day or so.

It’s an absolute farce. Complete gamble when tickets are first released. I was getting corner of the cusack 2 mins after the general release window opened on Monday. No doubt if you wait until tomorrow you’ll be sitting in the best seat in the Croker.

I’m hopeful & even a little expectant for Sat. Monaghan have serious runners with energy & drive but we have the better overall forwards - we’ll need our ‘special’ players to get us over the line from 50th minute on, whether that’s from a starting position or from the bench. But def think it’s time for us to move to the next level.

Re the administration/organisation of the championship, I’m absolutely sick to my stomach. At every level it’s rotten and there’s zero consideration for supporters. Only I’ve a still a couple of younger kids I wouldn’t bother - and I’ve been going to league & championship since the mid 1980s

* Fixing 3 northern teams for Croke Park with 2 playing at 6pm is a recipe for disaster. I dread to think about parking and/or the journey home.

* Taking 2/3 days to release ‘decent’ tickets is deplorable - people are left trying to swap & sell tickets on social media

*The train debacle (I’m not sure if it’s been resolved) but initial refusal of Translink to put on specials leaving fans stranded.

*And those Ba*tards in RTE feathering their own nest through the GAA Go Paywall. My dad -and many, many like him - won’t get to see the team he’s followed since the 60s because it’s not an option for him to go to a pub and he hasn’t a device to stream on (he wouldn’t know how to work it if he did)

The GAA in particular are pushing ordinary supporters away from the game.

Rant over….up Armagh!

Agree completely

Just one point with four Ulster teams involved in the quarter finals it was inevitable the three would be involved on one day given the fixtures

Give it a rest. Armagh fans the last while have been the laughing stock of the country, yapping about everything!
*With 4 northern teams into the last 8 this was always going to be a possibility. If we had been on a sunday there would have been people complaining with being late home for work in the morning, cant take a drink etc. God forbid our supporters enjoy themselves and have a drink supporting their county. Yes there is always a small number of clowns from every county which let themselves down, but this doesn't mean the rest of us can't have a drink!

*Just hang tight if you know they are going to release the 'better tickets' later in the week?

*Is this a GAA issue? Is there the capacity available for extra trains at that time on a Saturday? Yes I agree a few extra trains would have been brilliant, but remember how privileged we are to even have access to a train station- unlike Tyrone, Derry & Monaghan.

*My grandfather is in the same boat. My uncle takes him over to his house to watch the games. Although i know this can't be the case for everyone. Why not buy him a smart tv or fire stick (costs about £25). Me personally, wouldn't miss any of the big championship/league games for the world. It would defiantly be a good investment. We are lucky to have access to so many games a year, although GAA GO does have its teething issues it is still a great service. What i am trying to say is really if your father loves the football so much why doesn't he/you invest in setting GAA GO up for him if it means so much to him?
