I'm referencing this on this thread as it's still the most active:Folks debate as much as you want and hold any opinions you care for, but please do not decide it's clever to have one too many and then PM me and abuse me. This forum is not in any way official or connected to Armagh. It's privately funded and simply ran for supporters. If you cannot be sensible we can easily shut it down and save the agro and money.
Now grow up and have healthy debate and stop acting like the stereotype some have of our county.
I'm now feeling like my own father for goodness sake. We never get involved and haven't moderated to any extent since setting it up until now. If this continues, it's no longer what we envisaged and goes back on our original idea.
A complete overhaul of our development squads and personnel running them, for a start, it's been the same old now for 20+ years, and if we get a new manager, for them to oversee all levelsMaybe I'm wrong but didn't those not named play for their clubs?
Also the split season is only for championship
County underage has been poor especially at u17. What's your suggestions?
So any potential new manager has to look after 5-6 teamsA complete overhaul of our development squads and personnel running them, for a start, it's been the same old now for 20+ years, and if we get a new manager, for them to oversee all levels
No one can give a good enough reason why McGeeney should be given more timeJustin Mcnulty writing in the Irish news today ssaying we have to continue to give Geezer our backing that continuity is vitally important for the county.
Oversee, install a new system, and check monthly on progress. So any potential new manager has to look after 5-6 teams
That's progression.....
Seen thatAaron Cunningham doesn't think so
I would like to see a team like this but we won't, mcgeeney has his favourites and will play the experience players,Seen that
He has no suggestions either
Likes to hear himself like quite a few others on social media who change their minds as much as the wind changes direction.
Personally I think he should get another year, change his backroom a bit ensuring that the successor is part of that backroom.
Managing a club team is one thing
Managing a county team has to be quite something else.
Use division 2 to blood a few more players ensuring top two finish and then gear up for the group stages of the AI
The provincials are finished and it's only a matter of time before they go.
I think the style of football will evolve next season - teams will start leaving 2-3 players up, breakdown the attack and go for it.
For sure we are not going back to 1970s style of players staying in their positions
They can't see fouls off the ball - how are they going to count the numbers of players behind a line. Who is going to do it?
And the one thing is the same rules, bar Hawkeye (when it works) apply to every adult game in the country
To change things requires different rules for club and county games. Once that happens the shouts of "elitism" will start.
There are no points for giving an exciting performance.
Here's what next year's team could look like for early league:

Got us to an Ulster final and two all ireland quarter finals in a row.No one can give a good enough reason why McGeeney should be given more time
Jeepers, Jim. Don’t be using that bad language again!Told ye before about running down the spiral staircase ya buck eejit!!!
That's actually a good argument for getting new blood in. No improvement since he took over 9 years ago when we were in division 2 and also reached a quarter final. Would have been shocked if we couldn't have got to the Ulster final this year, no real achievement there with the teams we played.Got us to an Ulster final and two all ireland quarter finals in a row.
Really stupid post with very little logic behind it. If you feel time is right for new management then present an argument instead of just an off the cuff the comment.
I accept that there is an argument that new management team is needed. That's actually a good argument for getting new blood in. It has been 9 years of very poor performances. How many times did we let teams back into games when we should have killed games off. First few years it appeared their was an obsession with defending. Remember playing 1st round championship against Donegal who were well ahead by 7 or 8 points and all wee could do was pass the ball sideways in our own half afraid to even take a chance of going forward. It was shameful from a side who had the previous year just lost to the same opposition by a point. Things began to change when the backroom changed. It was as if they had a slight influence in getting the team to play with a little more attacking style. Then with further backroom changes with the introduction of the 2, Kieran and Ciaran we had a very good and enjoyable year. I was all for geezer getting another year as a result. This year has been a total let down. I feel our top players were overused in too many league games, possibly as a result of not having confidence in other players, really a fear of losing. This also allowed later teams we played, to see exactly how and what our top players were doing. This meant they could plan to stiffle certain players. We lost an Ulster final by not being able to take advantage against 14 players and also not having a go to strategy for kick outs at the most crucial time at the end of a game. We then repeated this again against Monaghan. We fans deserve more. The players we had were not as bad as some people might want you to believe. We beat Tyrone in Omagh and lost a quarter final in the last 5 mins the year Paul Grimley was in charge. Despite this you will still hear people say how Geezer has brought us on. Sorry but these are the facts, no matter how I wish they weren't.
You’d ideally want them in place asap, give them a chance to get to as many club games as possible and get a look at potential new panel members. When roughly does management for the next season be decided ? Next county board meeting ?
Great to see!!!Some good news. Armagh under 16s beat Mayo today to reach Buncrana Cup final. They meet Tyrone who beat Dublin today.
