Good. And not just because it’s Tyrone. They had to stand by the referee’s decision. Had they been overturned, the rule book would have looked pointless. All 4 Tyrone red cards upheld
Comepletely agree, hopefully puts an end to these melees. Also dragging a man to the ground by the neck is every bit as dangerous as a punch. Hopefully this stamps it out. Shows the nerve of them ones trying to get off with it when the video evidence clearly showed faultGood. And not just because it’s Tyrone. They had to stand by the referee’s decision. Plenty of lads there to step in, Ciaron O’Hanlon most likely start I would say. With McCabe not playing it will give other players the opportunity to step up
Thought McCabe's case will be heard on Wednesday evening? With McCabe not playing it will give other players the opportunity to step up
I read he hadn't had his rescinded - could have been wrong. It is a one match ban, if I were Tyrone I would drop it and get on with getting heads focused for Kildare. This might feed into Tyrone's mentality "Everyone hates us" and make them more determined to win.Thought McCabe's case will be heard on Wednesday evening?
Jaysus, it will be some craic if he got off. Tyronies would go bananas.
Had seen on RTE sport website that McCabes hearing was on Wednesday. RTE not always the most accurate though so who knows. Had a quick peak on other forum and Tyronies in whataboutery overdrive. An idea they were spouting was that Armagh, through their tactical fouling deliberately contributed to an atmosphere in which a melee was inevitable.I read he hadn't had his rescinded - could have been wrong. I did not see him do much in that melee, he grabbed a Tyrone player by the collar but that was the height of it. An Armagh player did shove a Tyrone player to the ground at the end of it all but could have been Tyrone doing what comes natural to them. The GAA do not want this to go on any longer than it already has because you can be assured every incident will be under scrutiny for the rest of the season. Who knows, they might have identified Armagh as their new cash cow.
They don't half spout some shite. This is pure deflection from the fact they con the referee into giving them frees. Once referees know what they are like they won't be getting points so easily. Them and their theatrics and trying to divert peoples attention from what really happens in games.Had seen on RTE sport website that McCabes hearing was on Wednesday. I almost feel sorry for Gough (referee). Quite a few midget posts were setting out their intention to scrutinize every decision he makes next weekend (Mayo game I think)
No it'll more likely be Campbell or GrimleyPlenty of lads there to step in, Ciaron O’Hanlon most likely start I would say.
To be honest, any sort of contact with the head/neck should be an automatic red. Players get away with far too much in my opinion. Pushing to the chest/neck area can still do as much damage as a punch. Lots of injuries can result from such antics. Headlocks are another. It's a contact sport. Are we heading towards incidental contact? To be honest, any sort of contact with the head/neck should be an automatic red. Players get away with far too much in my opinion. Players healths need protecting. These guys still have to go to work the next day.
So, the GAA need to be serious about protecting players, and Tyrone failing to overturn their 4 reds is the first step towards showing they are serious about it.

From time to time things flair up. It doesn't happen often really.
If more refs applied the rules then the deterrent is there.
But agreed things like headlocks, wrestling throws etc are exceptionally dangerous.
But here is something to ponder on:
How many from the Dublin v Kerry match were sent off?
How many from the Galway hurling game last Sunday.
Why is there no talk about about the dozen cards handed out in the Dublin v Waterford hurling game the other week.
Stuff like this goes on in a lot of matches but nothing said.
It's only said when it suits an agenda by RTE, it's pundits and some slobbers in croke park.
