Jarly og to stick to mckiernan like glue
Would prefer to have Jarly Og roaming the field again and running directly at the Cavan defence as he did against Down-although he had some licence to do so after Mooney was red carded. Still think it better to directly utilize his strengths rather than simply try to nullify McKiernan. Charles V might be a better option to that

Charles V being the Armagh Harps player and not the former King of Spain and Holy Roman Emperor.
Seen Charlie a number of weeks back trying to nulify a seemingly "finished" Aaron Kernan and got a roasting. Dont think hes the man for an in form McKiernan (even though I believe McKiernan is highly overrated).

Aaron Kernan and finished should never be in the same sentence.. That man keeps himself in serious shape. Could easily still play county only for family commitments.

Aaron Kernan would give most markers sent to nullify him bit of roasting. And even with that, given the style of the players, Charles marking Kernan seemed bit of an odd match up. I think he (Charles V) might be better suited to marking a more lumbering and barging type of player like McKiernan. Just an opinion

Yes it was suggested last week on the forum here by someone (cant remember who) that he was finished. Its true would offer a lot more than some of our current players keeps himself in serious order. Any county would be glad to have him.

Oisin O Neill if fit would be your man for McKiernan but having watched him against Cullyhanna on saturday id say he is still off the pace a bit.

What do you think the starting 15 will be for sunday
Hughes
Morgan
McKay (Regrettably)
P.Hughes
Kennedy (Would have McQuillan here, but having seen him limping around at the weekend doesnt look likely)
Vernon (Captain)
Shields
Burns
O.O'Neill (if fit)
Nugent
Rafferty
Campbell
Duffy
R.O'Neill
Clarke

Hughes
Morgan
McKay
Sheilds/Hughes
Kennedy
Donaghy
Vernon/Shields
Grimley/Crealey (great game when he came on)
JOB
Nugent
Grugan
Rafferty
Clarke
O'Neill
Campbell.

No chance Oisin or Murnin starting. Ye's lads are mental/delusional thinking they'll be fit to start. Same with McQuillan/Duffy. Them lads will be introduced 2nd half at best.

Apart from Morgan starting in place of the injured Patrick burns, I can't see there being many changes from the team that started against down, although a few such as paul Hughes, Vernon, Rafferty may be looking over their shoulders.

If that is the case, we have great options to call from bench:

Defenders - shields, McCabe, McElroy
Midfield - grimley, O'Neill, crealey
Forwards - murnin, Campbell

Going off the Down performance there will be a few more looking over their shoulder.

Ideally if Oisin O'Neill was fit I would have him there against McKiernan who is a big man plus a good footballer. If he is not fit then I would play Crealey on him - he has the size and did really well when he came on against Down. Raferty might be an option also - but he was not good against Down - would midfield suit him better?
