Armagh v Cavan - Ulster Semi-final and Replay

Spoke to someone yesterday who said that they went to O'Kanes to get tickets and was told they were sold out! Surely not - does each outlet have a certain number or are they all drawing from the main pool? Either way I'd be amazed if all tickets were gone. can anyone enlighten me?
16k last week plus maybe few extra for replay plus the game before should get a crowd, got mine yesterday to be safe!

there will be a lot of switching around at the back on Sunday. Naming 2-7 is difficult let alone picking their positions. Hope McKay is okay. If not...

1. B. Hughes
2. J. Morgan
3. J. McElroy
4. P. Hughes
5. R. Kennedy
6. M. Shields
7. A. Forker (Captain)
8. Jarly Og Burns
9. N. Grimley
10. A. Nugent
11. R. O'Neill
12. J. Hall
13. J. Clarke
14. A. Murnin
15. S. Campbell

If Murnin isn't fit to start O'Neill at 14 and Rafferty at 11.

Not sure who vice captain even is. Paul Hughes and Aidan Forker stood out for me the other day so Forker wouldn't be a bad shout or Shields.

Would like to see C. Mackin involved and C.O'Neill is a natural 6 but no championship experience.
Charlie has to start - in Donaghy's sweeper role - and he should be captain too.
Paul Hughes to mark McVeety.

Morgan mckay Hughes
Shields McCabe forker
JOB crealy
Grimley O’Neill nugent
Clarke rafferty Campbell

Think Jamie’s contribution has went under the radar, may not be scoring as much as we would like but his passing has been phenomenal and had created countless scores. Soupy needs to take the game by the scruff of the neck and show his class. Rafferty probably not as fit as he’d like due to his long lay off so would have him close to goal.

Hopefully Oisin O’Neill and Murnin have 20 mins in them. Crealy in for extra height from kick outs. Put crealy on mckiernan and let JOB and grimley free.

Like the rest of the team I hope they put in 75 minutes rather than 20 if they are fit.

We’d need to get the number 16 shirt off Oisin O’Neill first. What is that about ffs. Surely we can get a keeper from somewhere to be on standby. I’d like to spring Oisin off the bench with Murnin and rain high balls into them. They’d scare the bejaysus out of Cavan if they did that. Any good keepers around the county that Geezer should be looking at for next year?

I was tempted to put Charlie in at 6. If he starts he probably is captain.

Paul Hughes was man of the match for me the other day. Prior to that I wouldn't have viewed him as a great man marker.

No matter what 15 start we have strength on the bench.

I can't see Grugan starting. O'Neill has made dead ball his own at this stage. Another reason for Grugan to make way.

Hard to name a 15. Very hard.

1. Hughes
4. Hughes
7. Forker
8. Burns
9. Grimley
10. Nugent
12. Hall
13. Clarke
14. O'Neill

Those are 9 I think will all play in those positions. Although Hughes could move into 3 and O'Neill will undoubtedly drift out from the square. Not a natural 14. Too much to offer out the field.

For all the strength we have we haven't got a certain spine.

3, 6 and 11 aren't exactly jerseys nailed down by anyone and our 14 is best suited to 11.

Instead of building a team around our spine we are filling the 'gaps' in those central areas in many ways.

I'm not too concerned. It's far from a 15 man game as we all know and changes will be made throughout to get back to an Ulster final.

And that we will do.

The fly goalie tactic has its fans including if I recall yourself. Anyway Oisin has been wearing an outfield jersey with 16. He can still come on in the forwards

If Donaghy gets off, I’ll buy a hat and eat it.

Appealing would upset the game plan would it not? I mean, we’ve got a week to prepare for Cavan. It would confuse things if the Donaghy role had to be given to someone else. They’d only have probably one training session to get it right.

Boys. That Hoganstand article is from Monday, using quotes supplied by McCorry immediately after the game on Sunday. All he says is that they'll have a look at the video during the week and decide what to do.

I'd imagine they've had a look at that video by now, and, with no further mentions of an appeal, I think we can all surmise what they've decided.

Did I read correctly... someone in here complaining about burns performance on Sunday past? Then a few posts later posting a team with joe McElroy playing full back... and promoting playing a man who as far as I remember has never played for armagh to date... in an ulster semi final replay? There I was thinking burns got the knock to the head.
