Is it not Clanns as last years intermediate winners and whoever finishes top of the league that will play senior championship? So currently Clanns and Sarsfields will play senior championship with Annaghmore and St Peters coming down to intermediate championship?

Nope. Clanns in Senior this year, but no other teams currently in 2A will play in the Senior championship; they will play in Intermediate. So we will have one more team in the Senior championship this year than last year as no one went down from Senior last year.

I thought the 2020 league (which is being played now) would decide which championship teams played in for 2021. Maybe I’m wrong.

Clans will join the senior league teams for a 17 team championship (1 preliminary round fixture followed by round 1, quarters, semis, final)

intermediate league teams (minus clans) plus forkhill as 2020 junior winners form a 16 team intermediate championship.

be one less in junior championship for 2021 than there was in 2020 as only forkhill go up

Possibly a stupid suggestion and I'll hold my hands up, I haven't thought it through, but...........

Surely as the championship was known to be coming up a while back and with maybe a few permutations on who "could" be in what draw, it could have been done, even a few weeks ago with balls marked "a, b, c, etc" as required to represent possible teams and they would be paired as usual and to be decided! At lest then most would have an idea of what to expect.

Apparently the championship isn’t based off this years league? Maybe an even stupider question but could the draw not have been made at the start of the year and dates confirmed when the county were put out?
