He was away in Australia & came back for a family holiday, it tied in with the Harps being in the final, there was a lot of debate if he should have benn added to the panel as he obviously hadn’t been involved in the run up. Anyway long story short he joined the panel, Harps were in trouble second half, down to 14 & behind, looked like defeat staring us in the face. he came on and turned the game for us. Legendary first ball caught between 2 markers, laid it off & last few more for crucial scores.... the rest is history. Great final that was, hopefully we’ll get a repeat tomorrow

Any truth to the rumours of young Donnelly(not sure if Shane or Declan) coming home from Texas for this game? Remember watching him carry the Harps minors to the Ulster final and then same for the u21's. One of the most natural footballers I've ever seen. Would be a huge asset for the Harps in the last 10 mins

I remember being at that game. Don't remember a big pile about it though.

Which one of the Grimleys was sent off that day? And what did he do?

John, if I recall he had an injured finger, which was duly pulled, which resulted in same finger being curled, which resulted in a punch and corresponding red card lol

Congrats to the people behind the new forum. Also thanks to the chaps for all the work they put in to the old one.
I suppose there was always going to be a conflict of interest for them as they were serving two masters.
Thank you. You're very welcome and we hope you enjoy what we're doing

The ogs are still the only team to beat Crossmaglen & win a championship in last 20 plus years just saying

So they really are the only true champions apart from us in the last 20 odds years:p

Seriously though well done to the harps. They put in a seriously ballsy (am I allowed to say ballsy?) performance in the second half...particularly after Maghery scored the opening score in the second half. Vernon showed up at key times as did Lennon and Paddy Morrison had a great game in goals. Maghery looked leggy and shapeless when the game went into the mixer and looked like they played their final in the semi. Congratulations to Harps. Good opportunity in ulster too if you want it. Easier side of the draw.

I was right by saying it was harps year....I may have been saying it for years but I got it right this time:p

Brutal first half. Harps were a different team second half. Maghery lacked ideas, were very laboured, and never really looked capable of pulling back the deficit.

Maghery midfield caught nothing all day. Harps got their scores easier in second half. Ref decisions a bit ropey against Maghery I thought, but Harps still deserving winners.

Another thing I noticed was the flat atmosphere of both fans. It was like they were all drugged, even in the build up. It livened up a bit later on but was like being in a library at times.

Harps midfield caught 80 odd percent of kick outs. A lot down to the distributor - paddy Mo. Game as a badger and saved the harps at the death with a point stopped over the bar, and a flicked goal chance.
