Junior Championship 2020

The one concern I would have about Derrynoose is that they get carried away with yesterday’s result. Some of the fans where I was were celebrating like they’d win the AI. That was a very young Cross team with a goal to develop players for the senior team mostly.

That’s understandable I suppose. Cross Seconds or not, you’re still beating a Crossmaglen team. That’s a big deal for a team that has probably had little to shout about for years.

You can label it what you like. The reality is derrynoose beat a team that were in intermediate the last number of years and were expected to bounce back up.
Actually they weren't expected to bounce back up.
A very young cross team has been playing this year
However championship is about one thing - winning games no matter how

If forkhill and Eire og can only beat cross by 6 and 2 points respectively and Derrynoose can beat them with 13 to spare think it make them strong favourites for the championship. Was Paddy Burns playing the other night? Him matching up against McNally will be interesting and how that plays out will have a huge bearing on the game. Belleeks potential route to the final will have been easier than there opponents if they can manage to get past Newtown but they’ve won both their championship game pretty convincingly and will fear no one.

Tbf cross championship team was different to the league team I believe and they also played the vast majority of the game with 14 men. I do think that the noose/forkhill winners will go on to win the competition though, should be a high scoring affair.

Burns not even on the squad against Éire Óg so I don’t think they have anyone to handle mcnally

I know quite a few Derrynoose ones. They always enjoy the celebrations but most will not get carried away. I feel they have more chance in beating Forkhill in semi final than final . They often disappoint in finals

Cross league team very different than championship, why not run with the same team throughout? Derrynoose v Forkhill is the final, Derrynoose to go all the way. Burns injured as far as I know

King and Shannon starting for forkhill, 2 quality additions could make the difference. I find it far too close to call though.

Very strange refereeing - Not to the benefit of either team

has been a disappointing Standard when watching this year
